If you are hoping to get away from the throngs of tourists, block-style resorts and party scene that is often found on Thai beaches, this is definitely the place for you. It was for me. Dawn of Happiness is quiet, peaceful, serene and absolutely lovely. It has a relaxed atmosphere, yet is very warm and welcoming. For three days, I...

I arrived there on mid may and I liked the place so much when that I extended my staying for one week more. I found quietness and feel more in contact with the natural environment than anywhere else in Thailand (and I've been pretty much everywhere). I specially remeber having a coffee in the morning just 20 steps far from...

The place was absolutely awesome for chilling. We had hut 6 which is right on the beach basic but amazing . You don't really see much of the Swedish lady that runs this place with her boyfriend aipong who is very nice .on the day we were leaving the lady was sitting on the beach, we just wanted to ask...

The location is beautiful and having a secluded, scenic, clean beach right outside of your door is amazing. Saying the amenities are rustic is an understatement though. There are holes in the walls and the rooms are not cleaned thoroughly- cobwebs cover the bathroom. Getting simple requests filled, like a new lightbulb or getting a blanket, was often an impossibility...

Dawn of Happiness is not for the traveler who needs a lot of attention by staff or property mangers. The location is set along the beach where you can walk for miles without seeing anyone else. They have hammocks, that do need to be replaced, but still do there job. Your room will not be luxury but it's nestled by...

Okay so.... first off a bit of a muck around to get to. Secondly when arranging our room/ bungalow, the owner tried to swindle us for more money. Thirdly we had a flimsy padlock on the door which didn't close properly, allowing one of the many the Feral cats to come in and mark our stuff/ beds as it's territory....

Dawn of Happiness is perfect for those on a budget, looking for a quiet place, away from the bustling streets of Ao Nang. Tucked away from the main road, this place is a hidden gem, right beside the beach. You could while away your days, reading or relaxing on hammocks, while the lapping of the waves lulls you to sleep....

First thing - Never expect 3 or 4 star facilities there. Its a resort with a homely atmosphere which fits the budget. You get what you pay for. Friendly staff who helps you in cooking. You can use the kitchen to make the dish of your choice with your stuffs. Bit away from Ao Nang - Never mind you get...

After a 10 day stay here I have fallen in love with the place, but I knew that on Day 1. The DoH is a place to chill amongst lots of green nature, beachfront views, and switched-on people. It's the sort of place where everyone knows everyone else and this friendliness is helped by communal meals. The staff are just...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fan Room : 500,- Baht/night (May to September) 800,-Baht/night (October to April) Air con Room : 800,- Baht /night (May to September) 1000,- Baht/night (October-November/February-April) 1200,-/night (December-January) A place to rest, not touristy, as you would imagine to be a peaceful holiday on a private beach. There are only a few places in Thailand like this. Highly recommended, for people who want to enjoy the tranquility. The bungalows are simple but cozy. They are directly on the beach ( Ao Nam Mao beach). In your room you will find : A real bed, a fan, a table and a chair to write a postcard, a wardrobe, a toilet with warm water and a small terrace where you can hang your hammock and enjoy the sea breeze. There is a restaurant, beach terrace and a community pavilion. We have own WIFI and it is very good signal. Ao Nam Mao is a quiet area of Krabi with many attractions. In the neighborhood are a shell cemetery (known as a fossil beach) or a traditional fishing village "Ban Lampoo" where you get to know the lifestyle of locals. A riding with trained horses is our neighbor. You can ride along the beach or go swimming with the horses. For children is also something there .. A "fun park" (Adventure Park) where the kids or even adults climb into the trees or behave a time like Tarzan. From us you can walk to Ao Nammao where they can go by boat to Railey beach or Tonsai beach. The public bus from Krabi town or from Ao Nang beach stop directly in front of the resort. From the airport you can get a taxi to join us, just tell them "Dawn of Happiness" Resort, Ao Nam Mao beach (close to Fossil beach) and the taxi will bring you here (about 600 bht). We offer a pick up service as well. ... more   less
