This inn was adorable and as advertised. The room had a small kitchenette and sitting area. The bed was comfortable and the grounds well cared for. Based on the property alone I would have given a 4/5.

Very cosy, and quaint Inn. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were immaculate, and the beds were remarkably comfortable, The Inn is central to all points of interest in Carmel. Great value for the location!
We recently stayed at the Briarwood for one night. IF YOU ARE ARRIVING LATE, BE SURE TO CALL AHEAD. We were arriving late and called to be sure they would be open. They were closing before our arrival and left an envelope on the door...More

Really cozy bedrooms, and it included a small kitchen in case you wanted to cook a quick meal. Just two blocks from the main street (Ocean St), and beautiful architecture.
The staff was really helpful, but the breakfast was kind of poor.

Hi - the only room we have stayed in is room 52 - also called "Greenwich" - there has never been an odor of any kind - and it is a comfortable accommodation. Just as the website shows, a small living room area with a loveseat, flat screen TV and fireplace. The bedroom has a California king bed - it is very small but cozy and clean - and the bathroom is fine. There is a fridge in the closet - a bit inconvenient but not so much as to cause a problem....We have found the accommodations quite clean...there is a dog fee, I believe, but we travel with a therapy dog...good luck - and enjoy Carmel!
