Hansel and Gretel room was perfect, fireplace and giant tub. The Inn itself was so charming and perfectly situated by the ocean and walking distance to everything downtown. If you want to get a real Carmel atmosphere to your vacation I would totally recommend, rustic, quaint and all charm.

We loved our two nights here. The location is amazing right on the main road in Carmel and just a few minutes walk from the beach too. We stayed in the Sea Otter room which was really lovely. Nicely decorated, very spacious and comfy bed. It had a fire place too but we didn't use it. There is free cheese...

Where do I start. We first stayed at the Inn at Spanish Bay for two nights, then concluded our trip at the Lamp Lighter Inn. It was amazing! At Spanish Bay you can't help but feel like you are spending $100 everywhere you turn. Which got pretty old to us. We arrived at the Lamp Lighter right around there happy...

We have never stayed at the Lamp Lighter Inn, but the next time we are in Carmel we will be there. We wanted to leave a bottle of wine in a room for friends who are spending the weekend there. I telephoned, and the staff went to great lengths to make sure that this happened. They definitely went above and...

Splendid, personally run, in central Carmel. Carmel in itself is a gem with its combination of the Pacific shoreline, the beaches, the shops, the hotels, the inns and the restaurants. You live in your own cottage and have breakfast in the garden. For luncheon and dinner you have a wide choice of restaurants. A perfect hideaway for your vacation!

Found this place over a year ago. We have stayed in several dog friendly places in Carmel but this is the best and the closest to the beach you can get. The staff is Fabolous and will try to meet whatever needs you have. The cottages are a touch dated but very clean and spacious. Nice simple daily breakfast and...

Small homey feel. Our room was very nice and we could see the ocean from our room. There was a wood-burning fireplace stocked with firewood which was a nice touch. It's on a great location on Ocean Drive. You can walk to the beach and walk to local restaurants. There were gas fire pits in the courtyard area which made...

Hi Jamie35226, We appreciate you taking the time to give us a review. The fire-pits really are a lot of fun, but, we have to turn them off at 8:30 just in case someone wants the courtyard quiet. They really are part of the magic of our little Inn. Thank you for saying you would stay with us again. We...

Very good location, near the beach on one side and very close to the shops and restaurants on the other, all within a short walking distance. We stayed in the porpoise room which was very nice and quiet as it was around the back, away from the central breakfast and later wine and cheese area. It is quite a large...

Hi Kathrine2100, Thanks for the kind words. We are fortunate to have this location. I am always trying to explain the feeling you get hanging out by the pits, I think it something you just have to experience for yourself. Thanks and please come back soon, Bobby

So happy that we found this place! It is comprised of a couple of small buildings each containing a couple of rooms. We stayed in the Katydid Cottage, which is one of the smaller rooms. It was adorable, very quaint! The only complaint with this room is that there is no comfortable furniture in the room to relax. There is...

I've stayed at the Lamplighter twice now, most recently in January, and have loved it both times. They are a down-to-earth, family-run B&B who are so welcoming. They have wine and cheese every evening on an outdoor patio where you can meet other guests (or not, whatever you prefer) and each of the cottages is absolutely perfectly presented and like...
