Run, don't walk, away from this hellhole. Dirty, smelly, rundown, unsafe (loose wires, broken locks, what appeared to be some unsavory guests. The only saving grace were the frequent police cruisers in the parking area.

We stayed at Casa del Sol, room no. 9, for two nights. This was an experience! 1. This is the perfect place to discover Carpinteria and its locals since you want to avoid spending time in your room as much as possible. 2. The lack of airconditioning is fine since the window is open and unable to shut. 3. The...

Talk about an unforgettable experience! We booked this motel sight unseen after several other motels/hotels in the area were full. The sheets and towels were clean, but it went downhill from there. No remote for the tv, no phone, no pool, no outlets anywhere to charge cel phones or use shavers. Toilet ran all night until we turned off the...

After one night at the Casa del Sol Motel I can definitely say that it's better and safer spending the night into the car. Tired of driving I spotted while on the 101 near Carpinteria a Motel 6 sign and I decided to stop for the night. Since the Motel 6 proved to be a little expansive I decided to...

We needed a room at the last minute so it served it's purpose, but I would not recommend it. It's never a good sign when the police drive through the parking lot running license plates. We got a room for $59 after having to convince the person at the front desk we needed a cheaper room than the $89 room...

I totally agree with the previous comment. This was our worst accomodation during our stay in the US. Of course we did not expect luxury for this price (usd 69 plus tax), but this place was awful. It was dirty, the room smelt muggy, the towels were dirty, the bed linen looked like swiss cheese (there were lots of cigarette...

I and my wife have travelled many times all across U.S. finding every sort of accomodation, luxurious or cheap ,but everywhere we found a "minimum" standard of cleanliness and comfort that gives the foreign tourist a good feeling of hospitality. But this place was just a terrible nightmare. Spent the night fighting with bugs, mices, smell and noise. My only...
