I stayed here while moving my daughter into the college and it was the perfect choice. I stayed in the cellar room and am so glad I did. After moving boxes all day and doing the shopping for her pantry, I was wiped out and the in room hot tub really hit the spot. Sam is the sweetest lady and...

The Harlan House in Columbia was great place for a two night stay for my mother and I. My mom wanted to see the old mining town and had never stayed in a bed and breakfast before. It was an easy drive back to Sonora and very quiet. A bit away from any busy roads. The Harlan House was decorated...

We spent just one night in Harlan House. Very comfortable B & B, full of character and charm. Breakfast cooked to perfection. Possibly could of been slightly cleaner, although bedding etc spotless, perhaps just a dust around the skirting and dado rails needed. I would certainly recommend this place and would love to return one day. We used this as...

This place was great! Coming from Cynical mistrusting So Cal we were not sure what to expect. Moving to the Sonoracolumbia area in January as newly retirees. Never stayed in a B & B before. Checked the web site and reviews and thought this would be a great rest stop for a couple of days after bringing up our first...

We stayed one night at The Harlan House as a stop over to break up the drive between Lake Tahoe and Los Angeles, though there is plenty to see in this area and it isn't too far from Yosemite. First, read review by waya5. That person is on spot and I couldn't write anything more eloquent! Sam is wonderful. She...

We stayed in Columbia for a night after a four day trip to Yosemite, as it was near enough to allow us to spend most of our last day in Mariposa Grove, and we were curious to see the old gold rush town. Harlan House is a very pretty old schoolhouse on the edge of town. It's in a very...

Forget Movie Sets of the Old West. Columbia State Historic Park near Sonora, CA, has been used often enough as a real movie set, including Back To The Future III, The Long Riders, Little House on the Prairie, and even the classic TV show, Rawhide. Clint Eastwood walked the boardwalk to the Jack Douglass Saloon in Pale Rider; Christopher Lloyd...
