I haven't been here in years, but it has always been a nice place to stop and eat while traveling up and down the coast from Half Moon Bay to Santa Cruz. Basic roadhouse food with a local ingredient flair. We had a couple of burgers, some beers and were on our way. They also have fresh baked goods, soups,... More

We had a weekend getaway and decided to stay in Davenport -mostly because of the location close to the beach and many hiking opportunities. I had read the earlier reviews and have to tell you all something: keep the price - quality ratio in your mind. If you drive 10 miles down south you're in Santa Cruz. Nice beach, nice... More

Went there for wedding anniversary dinner and it was a great choice among the three eateries in the little [wide spot on US 1]] town of Davenport, about 10 miles from restaurant-rich Santa Cruz. The food was super, generous enough to allow us to split the meal. The Santa Cruz Amber mini-brewery beer/ale was a smooth surprise. The only drawback... More

The food looked like it was good but there are so many flys in this place I could not enjoy my food, neither could my 4 year old granddaughter. I won't be going back. They open the windows which is nice but no screens or blow machines over the door so it is a fly fest.

We drove the Pacific Coast Highway (SR 1) from San Francisco to Monterey for a more scenic route between the two cities. We were disappointed with the Pacific Coast Highway (although there were several vistas of crashing waves from Half Moon Bay to Davenport). Davenport is a small community halfway between the two cities. We had lunch at the Davenport... More

We stopped in as it was getting dark out and stumbled upon this Inn. We got the Whale Watcher room which had great views and was well-priced. We ate downstairs where there was great live music and we loved the Taco Tuesdays!

We were travelling along the coastal highway towards the Big Sur and stopped here for lunch. The service was top class, as was the craft beer. We all chose burgers and I can honestly say it was the best burger I have ever had!! Sneaking a peek at other diners' plates, other food choices looked equally as good. If you're... More

This place is definitely rustic, it still has old cobwebs, dirt, and plenty of flys, no fly swatters available. Seated and served by a pleasant but distracting waitress, tongue and nose studs on a waitress are not attractive. Food was OK. Not a place we would return to.

The food quality went downhill a few years ago. Menu has not been updated in many years. Should probably stop trying. This visit the "portabello panini" was some mushroom paste, peppers and cafeteria quality cheese and white bread. Atmosphere and service still pleasant.
