This hotel is a perfect base for a visit to Yosemite National Park as it is just 2 miles outside of the park, and close to Yosemite Valley. The hotel obviously realizes that they can charge excessive prices because of its location and still be...More
This place is beautiful with a very good restaurant. Not too far away is a fun brewpub. We came for the Bass Lake fireworks and the Gateway made our stay great. The room was very clean, enough space and a huge bathroom with enough room...More
Some Staff was helpful some not quite, as I think they were short staffed. Great free upgrade of our room but bedding was stuffed up as we ordered two beds and opened the door to one. We rang reception and the lady said to come...More
Due to Detweiler wildfire, we got stuck in Yosemite Park and had to find last minute lodging, which is nearly impossible!! I am not sure if we got "the last room at the inn" due to kismet, or the fact that they had no power,...More
We stayed here for three nights based on the outstanding location - next to Yosemite (you can walk to a gate, but you still have to drive to get to the "stuff" in the park). Unfortunately, there was a rock slide about a 1/2 mile...More

Bring groceries from the city you're arriving (SFO, Sacramento). Everything is more expensive in the valley. The hotel rooms have a kitchenette. You are better off having a good breakfast in the room and bringing snacks with you for the day. For dinner you have two options at the hotel, a pizza place or a sit down restaurant. The pizza was pretty decent. I didn't get to go to the other restaurant. They algo have a small selection of groceries in the lobby, but they're pricey.
