if your PRIVACY is Important DON'T STAY HERE Stayed here for 2 nights a few weeks back. On more than three Occasions Harbor House Inn gave out my personal information to or in front of strangers. The first incident happened when the server for dinner decided to verbalize a private message that had been left for me at the front...

Management response:

The Harbor House Inn does not disclose its guests personal information. Like any hotel, we take messages for our guests and pass on the information left by the caller, unless instructed by the guest at the time of check in, that they are not expecting any calls nor do they wish to be disclosed as a guest of the Inn....

This is my second visit to the Inn and it was truly a memorable experience for me and my family. The Inn is situated just south of Mendocino overlooking a beautiful cove in the Pacific Ocean. The gardens are beautifully maintained and are terraced with a path leading down to the beach. The Inn itself has 6 large rooms within...

My wife and I spent 4 nights in one of the cottages at Harbor House for part of our honeymoon. Our stay exceeded expectations in all ways. The new chef, Adam, is absolutly fantastic and his food presentation is beautiful. He has a new and creative menu every night and we never went to sleep hungry or overly full. When...

We had dinner at the Harbor House with our two young children. The price of $65/per person seemed a bit high but I was really shocked when our children received a bowl of homemade macaroni and cheese and the price was $25/ per child. The adult 4 course meal was good but very sparse. We all left hungry and would...

Our trip took in the north coast of California, north of SanFrancisco. We chose Elk becasue we could travel to some other towns and see some sights. The drive from San Fran was facinating, from a major city area, through to small suburbs and then the countryside. The Harbor House hotel was waiting for us at our journey's end -...

Don't believe all the bad reviews. The inn is under new ownership and also has a new chef. Also remember everyone has their own interpretation and opinions even though they have stayed in the same place. If you are looking for a plush and fancy inn don't stay here. If you want a charming, cozy and romantic atmosphere then this...

We have stayed at the Harbor House Inn at least 12 times in the past 25 years, most recently in March 2009. The innkeepers have changed, the dining experience has steadily improved (and lately is quite excellent), and the view -- it is one of the most dramatic and breathtaking on the California coast. Make sure you take a walk...

I honestly felt as though when I booked, they were a bit too keen for me to stay and I might have been right. It was a friday night hence I would have expected the place even at this time of year to be busy, if the food is a ood as they say. The rooms where compact, but clean...

My husband and I took a week long roadtrip from Seattle to San Francisco. One of our stops was at the Harbor House Inn, and what a place! We were greated by name upon arrival by Linda, who kindly showed us around the main house, gardens, and to our room. We stayed in the Shorepine Cottage, which was fantastic. When...
