Very comfortable room with kitchen, bedroom and living area. Very clean. Free breakfast was great. The kitchen was well appointed for light cooking and storing leftovers. There is a nice diner across the street.

Well, if you've read any of my reviews you'll see I take no pleasure in castigating hotels and I do always try to be fair and balanced. The Hyatt House Emeryville, however just isn't up to scratch.

i arrived at 21:55 after a very long and tiring flight from the UK and asked if i

The front desk personnel at this location is flat out hostile. This is the second time in 10 months that I had such an experience.Different personnel but the same rotten attitude, rude, short and nasty. The stars are for Clean facility, excellent room and food. However avoid this

Great location for visiting Berkeley area. Like the room layout, family style with kitchen and sitting room. Clean and new overall. Outdoor parking. Continental breakfast was great with multiple options including omelet on order.

Does the hotel have a laundry area for extended guest?
It does have a laundry and the little mart in the lobby sells detergent. Although, there are stores within a short distance that would be less expensive.

The above comment regarding Emery's high tech delivery service and all the other ratings were meant for Hyatt Place Emeryville. Not Hyatt House. Hyatt House Emeryville was noisy, especially on the train track on a lower floor. I remember that I could not sleep well several nights at Hyatt House. On a plus side, Hyatt House two bedroom suite with kitchen is nice and spacious, as long as your neighbors are not partying all night long or kids running around above your room.
My suite was facing the Bay. Didn't experience the noise that you mention. Slept well, and was well cared for by all staff

Does anybody know the name of the shuttle firm/bus than runs from Oakland airport to the Hyatt?
My daughter took Lyft from Berkeley to Oakland Airport and was charged $110 (triple the normal rate since it was Thanksgiving weekend) and she was not aware of that at the time. So ask how much it would cost prior to booking Lyft or Uber.

Hi, Josh. What would you like to know about this accommodation? How difficult is it to get from the hotel into San Francisco without a car? How long does it take? Would be there on a weekend? How far from the airport? Thanks.
Depends which airport! From SFO, it's quite tricky without a car. A taxi will take you door to door, but it will cost around $80 plus bridge tolls. Various airport shuttles (SuperShuttle being the biggest) will do the journey for around $20, but they tend to cover SF hotels first and then head over to the East Bay, so it's a very long journey. BART runs to the East Bay and is the cheapest option and is very efficient. Take BART to MacArthur station and then either take a taxi to the hotel or there is a free shuttle bus called EmeryGoRound, which goes from the MacArthur station to a stop relatively close to the hotel. It'll drop you on the street corner about 5 mins from the front door. OAK airport is also connected to BART and you also take it to MacArthur. Shuttles or taxis from OAK are much cheaper and quicker. The same EmeryGoRound/BART system will take you into SF throughout the day and the AC bus also goes from close to the hotel directly into SF over the bridge. You will probably find you're paying the same rates to stay at this property as you would for downtown SF, so you're not really gaining anything by staying in the East Bay. If the rates were significantly lower, it would make sense, but they rarely are. Hope that helps!
