I was to have taken my father to the Legacy Lodge last year on a salmon trip but a month before were to leave, my father passed away. Phil Dawson gave me a credit for two people for 5 days at the lodge, and I gladly accepted his offer and took my friend Bill McHale. So on Aug 26th we...

My son and I have been going to Legacy Lodge for 12/13 years and have always had a great time. Even if the weather does not fully cooperate, the folks at Legacy have all the gear for you to enjoy your trip and fishing. Most trips we have been able to limit on our salmon catch. The boats are comfortable...

I took 3 friends to Legacy Lodge as a retirement gift for one of them. We have all fished our entire lives on fresh water lakes on rivers. This was the first salmon fishing trip for any of us and it exceeded all of our expectations. The lodge is beautiful, the staff is world class, the fishing guides are local...

My 16 year old son and I couldn't have asked for a better trip. Right from the get go flying into the lodge in the Grumman Goose was a thrill. I was extremely impressed with the high level of service from the entire legacy crew. Each and every one of the crew members went of of their way to make...

The fishing resort is near Rivers Inlet on the west coast of BC. We arrived on the 18th and left on the 21st of August. I was in a group of guys and took my 13 year old grandson with me. We had a wonderful time. The fishing was excellent and we both came home with our limit of salmon....

This is my second consecutive year fishing with Phil and the Legacy lodge crew. Everything is top notch, fully outfitted boats, fishing gear, quality bait, and knowledgable guides. My group has guys that have been fishing at Legacy Lodge for 12-13 years, and I can see why. They work hard to get you on the fish, and take care of...

My husband, 25-year-old son, and I just returned from a five day fishing trip at Legacy. We had SUCH a fun time! We have fished all over the world and Phil Dawson runs and operates a very unique and special place here in Legacy Lodge at Rivers Inlet. It is very remote. Which, in my opinion, is the secret to...

My 3 young adult sons and I have visited Legacy Lodge the last 3 years. I can say without reservation, it is the finest fishing experience we have ever encountered. I live in Idaho, and have fished the Snake and Salmon rivers, mountain lakes and reservoirs, the oceans of the Pacific, Gulf of Mexico and in Mexico, the Sea of...

Everything at Legacy Lodge is top notch - lodging, service, fantastic food, and quality equipment. Great boats that handle well and are equipped with fish finders. You can choose to be guided, but if not, the guides are always out on the water to instruct and offer tips. Best of all, the lodge has easy access to prime fishing spots...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Carved into the rugged coastline of British Columbia 250 nautical miles north of Vancouver, Legacy Lodge sits within the Great Bear Rainforest in the protected waters of Pendleton Bay at the mouth of the famed Rivers Inlet. Legacy Lodge is more than world class fishing; it's about friends sharing the adventure of exploring North America's last wilderness, experiencing humpback and killer whales, dolphins, eagles and a night sky full of stars so bright they'll keep you awake! Legacy Lodge was hand crafted on large floats from indigenous materials. The two story guest building includes 7 private guest rooms and 6 suites which nicely accommodates 20 guests. Legacy recently expanded with two additional guest buildings offering five additional suites, accommodating 10 guests. Guests enjoy spectacular views and deluxe accommodations with private baths and rooms appointed with luxurious linens. The lounge features a rustic bar with a fireplace seating and dining for 30 guests. Legacy Lodge provides three distinct seasons of fishing. Traditional salmon fishing for Chinook and Coho salmon are available from July through September in calm, secluded waters throughout Rivers Inlet. Halibut, Yellow Eye and Lingcod are also plentiful in these waters all summer. Heli-fishing for huge northern Coho salmon (20 lbs. plus) within the pristine rivers of the BC coastline is available during September and October, and wild Steelhead fishing from helicopters are available during April and May. Legacy Lodge offers exceptional fly fishing for Pacific salmon on the calm, protected waters of Rivers Inlet. The dense populations of Coho and Chinook in the waters surrounding Legacy Lodge are aggressive, and will take your fly..... and 200 feet of backing off your reel in seconds! Known around the globe for its magnificent scenery and unparalled salmon fishing, the waters of Rivers Inlet teem with some of the largest Coho and Chinook Salmon in the world. In fact, more 50 to 60 pound Chinook salmon are caught in this fjord-like inlet each year than in any other area in British Columbia. Full of energy and fight, these salmon can battle for hours, over incredible distances. Rivers Inlet lies within the Great Bear Rainforest, the planets last large expanses of coastal temperate rainforest. At 8+ million acres, it is 5 times the size of Banff National Park and represents one of the most diverse ecosystems on the planet. With an unmatched biological output of 500 tons per acre, it's 40 percent greater than tropical rain forests. ... more   less
