Out of 4 rooms all 4 had broken or chipped floor tiles, wooden panels that peeled off, a coffee machine that was not operational, broken glass in several places in the common areas, and more indicators of poor maintenance. The location is great, the crew as a hole was very nice. The villas are very spacious. Ground floor has a partial view of the beautiful lake, the second floor a more dramatic view. Dinner and breakfast buffets have a large selection of dishes, though quality is not first class and most tables during both meals were not cleared in time. The dining area floor was frequently cleaned. All in all, it felt like the potential of the place was not fulfilled and it felt like we did not get our money’s worth. Management’s request for customer inputs during the start of the evening was a fantastic surprise.…
Outstanding resort - beautiful grounds, rooms, views, etc. Food was great 3 issues 1) no culture of customer service. it appears the staff (other than dining room staff who are great) have not been trained in hospitality schools. When we arrived to check in we heard the lady at reception screaming on the phone to a guest who was apparently complaining about his standard room. Another time, when I stopped a staff member asking her for directions to a particular area of the resort, she responded "i am new here" and then walked off. When we notified reception of 2 pieces of clothing left in our room from prior guests, noone came to pick it up. I asked at checkout whether it was possible to check out a little later than 11am and was snapped at "no!" It appears that staff come from neighboring villages/towns and have not been properly trained as opposed to high end hotels in cities like Tel Aviv / Jlm where the service is fantastic. Hard to crack a smile out of any of them (besides for the dining room staff who are friendly) It didn't ruin our stay but it just would have been much more pleasant with great staff 2) no security - really anyone could walk in without being stopped 3) carpark should be better illuminated at night other than that - we had a fantastic time…
Terrible experience, I ordered room with pool. Based on their web the pool should have been warm, but it wasn’t. When I went to talk with the manager he told me that he cant do anything. It is not worth the money, the management team do not care about their customers. It is been more then five days since I asked for a manager to call me. If you asking me, do not go to this place, you can get better experience in other places.
Had a wonderful first time, two night stay at the Setai Galilee. The Setai is clearly working hard to overcome the recent negative reviews. Everyone was very gracious and helpful from the moment of check-in to checkout. Almost every employee greeted us with a friendly smile. Breakfast and dinner offered a wide variety of good food. Stayed in attractive, spacious villa with its own clean pool. Setai was a wonderful jumping off point for walks/hikes at Gamla Nature Reserve, Mevo Hama, and Nakhal Meitsar. Dina, one of the managers, went out of her way to be helpful.
If you like a dirty hotel with lots of smoking and non-English speaking staff, then this place is for you. If not, then stay away from this hotel My wife and I just went to this hotel to get away from Jerusalem and relax. This hotel is very expensive and based on the price, you would think that this hotel was a nice 5 star hotel. It is not. The issues we saw and experienced would be what you would expect from a one or two star hotel, not from a hotel at this price point! I should have looked at the previous reviews before booking this hotel. The bad reviews are all true. The hotel is very dirty, issues in the room that took multiple calls to the front desk to fix, the hotel staff in the restaurant do not speak English so it is hard to order food and the worse part, everyone is smoking everywhere. If you look at the web site in both English and Hebrew, it says the Hotel Grounds are all smoke free. This is far from the case. We asked the hotel staff multiple times to ask the people around us to stop smoking at the pool and at the restaurant and the hotel staff just did not care. …
Ordered the most expensive room with a promise of a lake view and got the plantation view with no apologies just poor explanation. The private pool didn't have circulation of the water, asked to fix it and it didn't happen. one bath robe. coffee in the breakfast is served in paper cup. room service don't arrive on a tray or a plate but on a plastic box like take away.
I’ll start by stating that I stay in hotel for work weekly and have never written a bad review. Setting is beautiful…. That being said the service was absolutely horrendous…. You can’t make it up. . Check in just demanded passport , no pleasantries or information related to hotel. Just openly rude to a nice couple if I can say so myself. . A cart takes you to the room , driver / bellboy didn’t even offer to bring luggage to the room, he just dumped luggage and left. Seems like standard practice at this location. . Spa is a whole story , but in short treatment rooms open right up to public area. No robes, towels , slippers offered. If you ask they do have lockers. Wouldn’t allow us to put treatment payments on our room. Same as other staff … no information offered zero customer service. . Pool - no one man’s a towel or lounge chair area. After 10 min we found a waiter and he said there are no more lounge chair covers available. Looks like they lay them out in the morning and leave them for remainder of day. Waited a half hour for a menu and then no one returned to take an order. On the way out we asked the server what was going on …. He said better to get a drink in the lounge. ( one poor fellow in charge of seating , towels and orders for a fully booked hotel ) . We head to the lounge, sever openly yawn upon our order ( simple straight forward glass of wine and salad). Asked for olives three times and they came out 45 min later, he kept saying sorry I forgot. ( at the time there’s tables were occupied. It was quite funny to see food come out and they kept mixing up the location of delivery. Once pizza made it to all the tables before the correct one. . Morning breakfast coffee was served in cheap disposable cups. ( keep in mind rooms were close to $800 a night ). . Decided to sit on our balcony and juts relax there. Within 5 minutes the cleaner for the room next door threw buckets of water on the half wall that divides the rooms. I got covered in dirty ( sponga) water. . Maintenance Is terrible, broken light fixture , signage , missing tiles in private pools. Broken glass and cigarette butts outside our room. List goes on and on. . Met with the manager , gave me his number and said next time I should book directly with him. No discount and no apologies. Not an hour later he calls to tell me we owe $60 for food that was out on the room. They should have our CC on file but of course seems like they mixed it up. . Friends of ours took 15 rooms that night and are all disputing the charges. . Location and concept are fantastic but the hotel is broken. Shocked that the Setai would stoop to such a low level. I hope ownership will take note and revamp the facility.…
received room Golan with pool big room, comfortable, all facilities I needed very clean room, good breakfast, recommended for others to visit this hotel I wish the pool was worm , but still we went in and it was nice
This is a beautiful property that suffers from a seriously incompetent & unprofessional staff. From the minute we checked in, there was a continuous series of failings: 1. Check-in was an excessively long process. 2. We waited 20 minutes for the golf cart to transport us & our luggage to our room. 3. When finally brought to our room, it had not been serviced since the previous guests checked out. There were empty food containers, beer & wine bottles, dirty towels on the floor, full garbage cans, unmade bed, etc.. When we pointed out to the employee that the room was clearly not ready, he continued to usher us in with no understanding of why the room was unacceptable. The confusion may have been due to a language barrier, but one does not need to speak English to recognize a filthy room. We were finally taken back to the reception area & were told the mistake was due to a “computer error” & the room would be ready shortly. Fast forward to 2 hours later - we are still waiting in the reception lobby without any acknowledgment whatsoever from the staff. No offer of a drink or snack, no invitation to use the pool or facilitates, no checking in to see if we were comfortable…completely ignored for over 2 hours. 4. That evening we returned to our room after dinner to find our card key didn’t work, so we had to hike back to the reception lobby to request new keys. 5. The following day when our room was cleaned, the used towels were removed & not replaced with clean ones. 6. On our final night, we asked for ice cream for dessert in the main dining area. We were told that ice cream is served in the bar lounge, so we went there for dessert. The server brought us dessert menus. We ordered the Belgian waffles, but we’re told they were not being served that evening. So then we ordered ice cream, and we’re told that they actually don’t serve dessert AT ALL in the bar lounge…this after handing us dessert menus! The staff & manager here are obviously undertrained and clueless about even basic customer service. If the hotel weren’t so expensive it would have been laughable. Sadly, our stay here was a huge disappointment.…
The room was beautiful and clean. Each room had a private pool but the pool was slimy and not clean. I called for room service and was told there were no eggs on the premises and they would not deliver my order. Eventually the manager go involved. 45 minutes later4 hard boiled eggs without utensils, salt, or toast were delivered. The facility is located on the undeveloped part of the Kineret. The result is there are no services besides those provided by the facility. It is a 45 minute drive to the nearest drugstore. There is clearly a staffing problem likely due to the location.
