Wonderful place to be and to spend time with family and friends. We stayed in the new renovated rooms (you must insist on them) and enjoined them and the surrounding area. We had a good dinner and breakfast in the dining room. We will come back again.
The lodgings are simple and clean. We had the "deluxe" rooms. We had an extended family holiday (21 people). Our rooms were all ground level, one next to the other (see photos of delux rooms). There were little cots for babies, family rooms for parents and kids, fridge, microwave, electric kettle. It was really well suited to our needs. We were not looking for anything fancy. The pool was excellent, a large wading pool as well. There was a playground, coffee shop, bakery, chocolaterie, and small byt good supermarket. Breakfast is included and was fine, lots of salads, eggs, pancakes, cakes, coffee could be better if they had an espresso machine etc. My only complaint was the extremely rude message thread between myself and someone via fb messenger; prior to our arrival I wrote to ask for certain recommendations and the conversation thread was rather shocking in its utter rudeness. I nearly cancelled the entire long weekend of 21 guests. But other than that, everything was nice.…
This place tax from tourists!!! This is completely illegal!!! They treated us like we are criminals if we don't pay. We got really bad treatment. The facility itself is very old. The area itself is beautiful. The swimming pool is far. Breakfast is very average.
Facilities at Degania Bet were just ok; but their front office was unreasonable, confrontational, and acted in violation of the letter and spirit of Israel’s taxing law. Israel collects a room tax that Israeli citizens pay for a room they book; it’s by the room, not by the person. But Degania Bet did an end-run around Israel’s system by insisting that the Israeli will pay the room tax, in a room that was booked by an American citizen. In the SAME room, one person paid the full 17% tax and one didn't! Degania Bet fought us over this at rock-concert volume for quite some time during check-in and again at checkout. After we left, they canceled my reservation with Booking so I won't be able to post this review on the Booking site! Furthermore they’ve “Declined” my credit card AFTER the charges went through 5 days prior to my arrival only so I could not prove to Booking that I was there. Booking can’t do anything since the booking was “canceled” and my credit card was “declined” after they got their money. I’ve never encountered such an outrageous effort to circumvent a country’s taxing law, and cover their tracks in a fraudulent way, by an avaricious host. I’ll never stay there again and don’t suggest anyone else support highway robbery. Degania Bet, being in the hospitality industry, needs to follow the rules of that industry and treat guests honestly. On the positive side, the surrounding is beautiful!…
I stayed with my family for 2 nights. The rooms are so small. Bath is small and when you shower you hardlly have a place to turn. There is no swimming pool while on all other kibutsim around do have a swimming pool. The breakfast is poor and doesn't have taste. And for all that you pay 600$ for 2 nights !!!!. Amazing how they dont blink when they charge so much money for so little.
We spent two nights last week at the lodging. We went with three other families, friends of ours. We each rented one of the groundfloor 2 room accomodations: a bedroom with a living space. In the living space there are 2 pullout armchairs and a kitchenette. The price was fixed regardless of the number of adults/children in each family (why?). The rooms are clean but lack any charm or personal touch. The kitchenette has nothing in it besides a sink, fridge and microwave. No sponge, dishsoap, plates etc... (Again- why?) Despite our being 3 adults, there were only 2 glasses. We received 3 towels which were clean but old and worn. Breakfast, due to Covid-19 regulations, was given to us in a box which we ate in our room. Again, each family received different parts of breakfast with no connection to number of people. For the price we paid: 2230 NIS for 2 nights we all expected a certain level of amenities and attention to detail. What we got was nothing more than the most basic level of accomodation. The one pleasant aspect of the accomodations is the back patio. It is well-kept and quite private. Very pleasant to sit in the evening, but again, I would not recommend this place at this price.…
I went with my family to vacation to this lodging house for three days. The room facilities were rotten. The decoration was like in the fifties. The toilet was filthy and bad smell was everywhere there. Hot water was available but the shower was old and not fully functional. The walls were yellow with traces of paint on the walls and the celing. Blankets and pillows were available, but the beds were old and made noises when one tried to move in them. Air conditioning was decent but loudy. The breakfast was very expansive given the products that you get. All beverages are cold and hot drink of coffee was served. The omelet was terrible and not edible. We were urged by the staff to check out from the room on 10:00am sharp without even considering to offer us any option to keep our luggage in the office, even though we kindly ask to give us two more hours to arrange our room and luggage (we have 3 kids). I think that on this special time of COVID-19 special restrictions and limitations, when everybody is fighting to get going and earn decent money, this kind of behavior is not acceptable and very offending. I strongly recommend for every person who considers choosing this lodging house for his or her vacation, to check any alternative choice first. The staff, it's service and accommodation personal experience does not worth it. On this difficult times, if you have time and money to spend for your vacation, I recommend investing it in a place which worth it. …
They' ve built new units. They are beautiful. But a lot of the rooms are still rather old. Therefore 4 points. Make sure you get the new houses. Food ist good. Pool ist perfect. Nice and friendly staff.
Stayed here for several days and totally enjoyed the visit. The kibbutz is lovely and walking around the grounds in early morning was perfect. The room was basic, but comfortable. In a place that usually is not cold, I was there in January when heat was needed. The a/c (heat) was noisy and there was no heat in the bathroom, but it wasn't bad at all. The dining room is set up nicely and both breakfast and lunch were plentiful and kosher, wholesome and very inexpensive compared to a restaurant. I would not hesitate to stay there again and recommend it to others.
We reserve a roon in this lodging place and we got an apt with a very large living room and a very small sleeping room with two narrow beds. No heat in the bathroom and averi narrow place to have a shower.
