This hotel has certainly seen better days. As the other reviews suggests, it is badly in need of a major refurbishment. Cleanliness in rooms is fair. Look carefully and you will not want to stay. Our bathroom shower did not drain well. The air-conditioner is badly positioned and thermostat was hard to control. Worst is that we often use the...

Everything about this place was awful. The whole resort was run down. The hotel looked like it has never bee refurbished. Ancient lifts with peeling wall papers. The deluxe 2-bedroom apartment we got was apparently the new refurbished ones where we paid a premium but it was not apparent to me. Food options were lousy. The attractions for children like...

This is a nice place with cool weather. Expect huge crowds on weekends and public holidays. This a hotel modelled on a french village with the same name. From here you can take tours to nearby attractions

The building are special in french style; however, it really need some refurbishment. The building and surrounding looks old. The carpark has a lot of bird nesting. If you park right under the bird nest, you will get a lot of "surprise".

We spent one night at Colmar Tropicale. I was not really aware of what to expect: the resort is built like a French village, somehow surreal. On the way up you have to pay a fee. However, if you booked a room you get the money back. The fee applies only for day-trippers. As a hotel guest you get addionally...

Booked a 1 Bedroom suite from Booking.com, arrived at 1.30 and had a quick check in, but was informed that our room was not ready (check in actually start at 3pm). Received a call at 2 pm, saying that our room was ready. Room size was huge with a separate living area and bedroom. Breakfast was just okay. The rest...

Was here over a weekend and stayed in a Deluxe One Bedroom Suite. The resort is old and not maintained very well as this could be seen from the reception until the room itself. The staff at the reception were friendly as I was checking in and was quick. As I walked into the suite, it had a slight musky...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Colmar Tropicale was modeled after 16th century Colmar town, north east of Alsace, France, also incorporatingarchitectural designs and elements from ancient surrounding villages of Riquewihr, Turckheim and Kaysersberg. The realization of this French themed village derived from the wish list of the Malaysia's fourth Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, who upon his visit to the region of Alsace were so impressed, that it inspired Tan Sri Vincent Tan, the founder of Berjaya Corporation Berhad to replicate the actual Colmar town in Malaysia. The resort comprised of 235 rooms and suites, offers 8 food & beverage outlets / lounges with food variety ranging from local & international cuisine to an authentic French fine dining restaurant. It also offers meeting rooms and banqueting facilities. ... more   less
