Basic amenities despite recent renovation? A few minutes to Grover Beach by car. A few restaurants nearby. Wifi almost nonexistent in our room. Nice staff, low-key breakfast. Overall stay was okay/doable.

Only a couple of others there. The TV volume would go up really high on its own. Bathroom had mold. Was quiet. Had puddles of water near rooms and in parking lot. Well lit. People were nice, but don't understand English real well.
It is about 3 blocks from the Grover Beach Amtrak station. If you're coming in on a bigger train, say from Washington or Oregin on the Coast Starlight Train it won't stop in Grover so you'll get off in San Luis Obispo... More
