Avoids this place and here is why- We booked a rental home at Serenisea for 4 days last week. Upon arrival we were met in an office by a man, whom I now realize must be the owner based on the dozens of reviews here and on the BBB site. After all, no one would possibly hire this guy for...

The difference between perceiving Serenisea as either a scenic, rustic, retro, seaside hideaway, or an unpleasant, regrettable, dirty, rundown, rip-off of a stay is largely up to how the management treats the guests. Yes, the furnishings are dated, the place looks a little run down, the wifi is essentially nonexistent in most cabins, and the chores and rules for which...

This place might have earned two stars for its uncomfortable beds, unclean interior, and Incredibly rude unprofessional staff, but the owner tried charging for us for three nights when we only stayed two! Rather than treating us like guests and resolving our issue professionally, the owner berated us with verbal abuse even after he had my fiancée in tears. We...

We rented the Moonstar house and it was perfect for us! Magnificent ocean view, hot tub on the deck, 2 bedrooms. Even allowed our dog! Really great. I would have given it 5 stars but the place needs some TLC. It is an older house, which is fine, but there were little things that need to be attended to. Paper...

I have been coming up here for years, enjoying the ability to stay in a gorgeous setting by the ocean in a place I can afford. I stay in the least expensive cabin and am grateful that, for the price, I have a comfortable bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a stone fireplace. Plus, there's an awesome shared hot tub...

Stayed at the castle rock house in March for 3 days. Loved the setting and view. House is like stepping back in time to the 50s but clean and feels like grandmas house. View from most windows and private. Very quiet setting. Bed was comfortable and bedding was fine. Gas fireplace worked great. We did not use the spa but...

We spent a few days in the Moonstar cottage and we loved it. It's small but perfect for a couple, and dog friendly so we got to bring our canine companion too. There are some beautiful trails right on the property and we never even left until it was time to go. It truly is ocean front (no access) and...

Very affordable cottage by the sea with log fire. On a cliff top with access to rocks below at low tide, but no access to any sandy beaches, one is a 3 minute drive away. Spa that is shared (you book by the hour) with amazing views at sunset. WIFI is free, but only works outside near the checkin area,...

My wife and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary in California and traveling all over the state. We stumbled upon the Serenisea cottage online and thought we'd give it a try since it was on the route we were traveling. We were absolutely amazed and the setting of the Moonstar cottage! It overlooks the ocean and is on a cliff...

It was the best of times; it was the worst of times. I stayed in Serenisea back in 1991 and had an incredible time. Flash ahead to 2015--a different story. I rented the Colt Cabin and was looking forward to another unforgettable weekend. It lived up to my expectation in that it was unforgettable. Unforgettably horrible. For example, when we...
