At £100 for the night (inc breakfast) this was a pricey sleepover, especially compared to others in the area. Good sized bed, though, great water pressure in the shower but hideously rusty shower appliances - sadly everything's in need of a bit of an upgrade and at this price, made me flinch. However, Claire is lovely and I can forgive...

I stayed here on a Saturday night after spending the day in Penrith and Ulswater area. Perfect location if you want to stay on the edge of the lake district. I had room 2 in the house, the bed was large and comfy the room was spacious and the bathroom was of sufficient size. Downsides were the headboard frame (noisy/squeaky),...

The owners Claire & Chris are very welcoming and helpful - providing local information and recommendations of where's good to eat. We were in room 2 which is a spacious double en-suite. We paid extra for a cooked breakfast which was lovely and Claire even provided gluten free bread. Some of the downsides for me - This B&B is like...

My husband found this by googling accommodation near the M6 - we were passing through en route to Orkney - and we weren't disappointed. The rooms were snug but they were nicely decorated with good facilities. We didn't have an ensuite room but it wasn't necessary as the very clean bathroom right next door was for our sole use anyway....

Stayed here for a night whilst taking my elderly grandmother on a tour of The Lakes. We had the family room and the double room, both of which were lovely. Breakfast was plentiful and host was lovely and friendly. I would definately consider staying again. Thanks Claire.

Stopped in the love shack out back aka the shed, it was fine served its purpose nice garden with the ducks, good boozer round corner with great grub. Pay attention to shower, I believe it's got a timer on it as I seem to loose hot water after 15mins then I go back later and get another 15mins hot water,...

Claire and Chris are fantastic hosts. They run a very comforting house, warmly welcome visitors and are wonderfully accommodating. It's a quaint location too and well connected if your exploring and wanting to enjoy a Lake District experience. For us, a family of four, with 11-year old twin boys, our stay over 3 nights this was a great experience of...

We had three nights here and had a superb comfy bed and lovely en-suite. We were made extremely welcome and our hostess Claire was extremely helpful. Breakfast time was flexible and the choice and portions were great. A real find, so close to both beautiful countryside and the M6 junction; so would recommend staying here for a look at the...

Had a great one night stay here on my way up to Scotland on a motorcycling trip The hosts were very welcoming and helpful, the accomadation was clean and comfortable.. After spending 6 hours riding up from Dorset in the rain the George and Dragon ( 100 yds away) was a great location to relax and get fed and watered....

the 'garden cabin' is basically a poorly appointed garden shed measuring 9 foot by 14 foot, in a yard next to the house. Most of the space was taken up by the bed. You had to go out to a separate shed for the bathroom/ toilet, this had no window and there was no hot water in the basin. Shower...
