The spot is absolutely magical. Nevertheless we spend 2 nights in one of the units. The owner/manager did not even greet us on arrival or in the morning when he brought around a sun lounge for us. The dishes in the unit have been mostly dirty and the couch was stained and mouldy. I would give dinner 4*. But the...

Went with my husband and was all so amazing. We ate and drank at the restaurant most days. Amazing cocktails. Amazing place. Feels as if you are on an island, so secluded. Good fishing off the bank. Lots of options to do from the bay as well including fishing charters, boat hire, JetSkis. Dingo beach is close by which has...

After seeing that Hydeaway Bay was a 'secret' must-see spot, we drove up here to see what the fuss is about. It's well deserved fuss! A gorgeous spot, we pulled up at Montes approx 1/2 hour before lunch starts, so went for a walk. It's a stunning location, that would make a fantastic spot for a few days away from...

Owners and staff have done a great job of getting back on track after Cyclone Debbie. We had a nice seafood meal as usual and fabulous outlook and atmosphere. Staff were attentive and we were grateful for permission to land for lunch onsite. Thanks Montes ! We'll be back !

This place is breathtaking. Very private & secluded with only 8 cabins. Cabins were a little dated but the view made up for it. Staff were very friendly & helpful. It is without a doubt my new favourite & I will definitely be returning ASAP.

Great day trip from Airlie to Hideaway Bay for a delicious lunch at Montes. Food was good and the view beautiful. Will definitely go back to stay there for a few days as it looked so relaxing. You can take your boat and park it up on the beach.

The location of the restaurant is unmatched in Airlie Beach. It is the perfect spot for lunch or a cocktail by the ocean. Be sure top book ahead to get a good table on the water. Worth the drive!!!!!!

This year we were looking for a place to enjoy sunset, beach cricket a few drinks and listen to good music and celebrate a great year with our staff. Montes relaxed beachfront location was the perfect place. Great sunset, very attentive staff, relaxed atmosphere and food was great, huge portions!! The only sad part - was eventually we had to...

My partner had been to visit over a decade ago when his relatives ran this resort, and was only accessible by boat. We came to check out the beach and resort, He was pleasantly surprised at all the changes made in this time! The staff in the restaurant are friendly and let us dine in even though it was almost...

We went there for some brunch. For start we didn't look and didn't notice the kitchen does not open to 12. The food was good, the staff are friendly, drinks list is large and it is a little over priced but not to bad. Having a quick swim between beers was perfect.

“all of the units have fantastic views”

“We like No. 8 as its close to the bar and restaurant. But some may think its too close to the action and prefer the units further down the beach on the western end. Some of those are older units. Its just a personal choice. Which ever unit you choose, there are uninterupted views right there on your doorstep.”

“Cabin 8 is next to the restaurant and is the only cabin on that side. So if you are out there and want to get away from everyone.”

“Make sure you ask for Chalet 1 - 3. Chalet 3 has a 'bonfire' outside that you can light yourself. Also - ensure you take enough bait as they do not sell it there.”
