We have been here several times and enjoyed it each time. An old hotel from the 1800's, very quaint. The staff is great and the restaurant and bar are really good. Lots of shopping on the street. Be on the look out for "Flo", the hotel ghost. Clean rooms and no tv's.

Historic and charming hotel in historic and charming Jamestown: old buildings, wood sidewalks, interesting shops, pretty Golden State vistas. The hotel features gorgeous original hardwood floors; a beautiful original bar - ask to see the Prohibition-era "speakeasy." Very friendly and competent staff. Very clean hotel. Great furnishings and finishes in the rooms; modern conveniences but period-authentic. Very comfortable beds; great...

My wife and daughter and I stayed here for two nights at the end of May on our way to explore Yosemite. The hotel is really characterful - all Victorian colonial style full of antique furniture. The staff were really helpful and friendly especially Daniel in the bar. He looked after us boozy Brits with real style and good humour...

Nice bar, dating back to the 1850s. Cozy, comfortable room. Pleasant 2nd story porch. Great breakfast buffet. Friendly employees. It was an excellent choice--unique, historic, memorable, on Main Street, with easy parking.

If you are willing to spend $32 for a very nice baked potato, this is the place to come too. I brought my Mom, grandmother and friend for dinner here last night for Mothers Day. We had a 4pm reservation. There were only 6 other people in the restaurant at 4pm. They sat us down and advised immediately that they...

I wish to thank you for what I assume is a review that comes from honest feelings. The problem that I am having, is that the review runs counter to almost all that I observed, or to those comments made by the server, who has worked here for a long time and is not prone to making excuses. 1. We...

Walked in to the National restaurant you feel like you go back in time. They had a great menu for a fun getaway with friends. Had the special steak with peppercorn sauce. Hubby had the fish dinner with fig sauce. Dessert was a great experience with cherry jubilee. It's a must do they use fresh herbs also displayed as center...

Recently stayed there for 2 nights and had a great time. The staff was fantastic and the room was very comfortable and quiet. I loved the old style pull chain toilet and the brass bed. There is no tv in the room but does have wifi. The breakfast that is included was very good. Quiche, French Toast, Hard Boiled eggs,...

The service was exceptional, from walking in to walking out. Courteous, accommodating, and with smiles from everyone. The staff gives the impression that they truly enjoy being there. The décor was "period" to a "T". The room was clean and quiet. The evening dinner was quite good. Prime rib well seasoned and perfectly prepared. Excellent pasta on the side. The...

I neglected to mention to my teenage son that I booked this hotel knowing it had a haunted reputation, he was horrified when the lovely manager warned us that "Flo" had been "active" lately when we arrived to book in. I on the other hand was pragmatic, I had never actually HAD a ghostly experience in my life, why should...

We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. It is always fun for us to hear Flo stories, thank you for sharing! Hopefully she wasn't too disruptive to your sleep. We can't wait to see you both again. Thank you!

My wife and I spent 3 nights over New Years and truly enjoyed it. The room was comfortable with a full bath and very quiet (except for New Year party arrival at 1:30 am). Staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. There is an early coffee service on the second floor that was most appreciated. There...
