This is a fun place to come n enjoy family time. My teens enjoyed the tubbing although the water is freezing cold lol. Love that there's places with shade and nearby restrooms. Will be returning even if it's just a one day visit!
I bought my camper so I could take my dogs on vacation with me and this place being dog friendly is the biggest plus! We had a site 2 down from the river but the people in front of us never showed so we got...More

I just saw this question and although this is response is WAY past due (I'm sorry), summer is again fast approaching! In case you are interested in coming up or another is interested in the response let me answer it this way... It is best to call in the spring. We are located on the upper Kern and is considered a 'wild river' because we have natural water flow (no dams). With that said, the last few years the river has been extremely safe all summer long (with proper supervision and life preservers) because of the decrease in water flow. We have been experiencing a lot of promising snow and rainfall this winter so it is our HOPE we have a great run off this spring and summer. It is still a little early to tell but I imagine white water will definitely run through late spring and hopefully into the beginning of the summer. With little ones I would recommend later in the summer when the run off has died down a bit. Again, please call us if you are interested in a visit and we can chat a bit more about what works for your schedule and your children! Many blessings in this new year!

"The best sites are along the river or beach.....I would pay the extra for those sites but they were filled."
