The location is average - around 10 minute walk to the beach which is very touristy and filled with vendors harassing you. The staff are unhelpful and expressionless... no help was offered to bring our bags to our rooms and they often were on telephone calls and "too busy" to attend to anything else. The only thing acceptable about this... More

Overall, I was disappointed with this hotel. I didn't feel like there was personalised service at all. There were large tour groups also using this hotel, so perhaps that is why. When obtaining assistance at the front desk the evening of our stay a young woman was assisting us. She was great; however, an older male appeared to be telling... More

Hotel is in a great spot conveniently located to several beaches. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and quiet. Good selection for breakfast. Pool was good refreshing change from salt water. Convenience store, motor bike rentals nearby and plenty of good restaurents and bars all within walking distance.

This is a genuine 3 star hotel of exceptional quality and good value for money. Whenever I escape from Phnom Penh in this direction I always stay here if at all possible. Sometimes it isn't particularly at the weekends because the hotel is a favourite retreat for the well to do Cambodians and many NGO workers in Phnom Penh. Good... More

Stayed in Golden Sands for 9 nights and am a travel expert as my job and wanted to research the islands beaches and Sihanoukville's 6 beaches. The hotel is a great location for the beaches and at a good price. Breakfast was good and plenty and the room cleaned every day. Pool just done and great. I found the resort... More

The hotel is close to the Ochheuteal Beach and town area where there are a variety of restaurants to choose from which caters for all tastes. Unfortunately we had bad luck and had to spend the three days indoors due to almost non-stop rain. We managed to visit the biggest market in Sihanoukville on one of the mornings using a... More

Travelled from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville to spend some time in the sun and on the beach... after all that we spent 2 of our 3 days indoors, due to torrential rain and storms. So much for the beach holiday. It forced us to rest after our hectic two weeks in Cambodia. The Golden Sand Hotel staff were very friendly... More
