The most beautiful scenery I’d ever seen from a hotel room. The place is so well maintained and cosy. Although it’s March and Spring time is coming yet there was a lot of snow within the resort that my kids enjoyed playing. Special mention to Ms Yoshida stationed at the Library Cafe Rindo for being friendly, reassuring and gentle. We felt very relaxed every time we see her at the cafe. Also thanks to Ms Afanindah who helped us to navigate the resort. Wonderful hotel, wonderful staffs.

The Prince Resort has the East & the West in the same area. The most beautiful views of the lake from your room & the dinning area. A fire place in the lobby area and the breath taking views. A free shuttle to the outlet shopping mall and the station and very close to the station. The breakfast was great Ala carte and your choice of eggs. Very quite surroundings and a beautiful place to relax. Excellent service in every area. During winter the ski lifts operate on the hotel grounds of the Prince Karuizawa East.

Convenient but quiet location with stunning view of the golf course allows you to relax in Karuizawa. The free bike renting service is a good temptation for you to ride around the area or even to the popular scenic spots for tourists. Under good weather, you can also ride to the nearby outlet shopping and dinning area without the need to wait for the free shuttle bus. The entire resort is a bit old, the toilet in particular. Though it is a bit farther away from rest of the resort area, I enjoy the quite surrounding with fewer people.

The Prince resort was big and has a few areas, such as the Prince East, which is newer I think, and the west, which is a bit older.. Thus, we were grateful for the hotel shuttle service that regularly loops the place, as we used it to go to and fro the outlet mall, the train station, the hot spring, etc. The room we had was a ground floor twin in The Prince hotel and the room was huge. Even though it was cheaper than our Tokyo hotel, it was more than triple the size! We also had big full length windows looking out onto a pond with beautiful trees and ducks and birds flying freely around. We just had to draw open the curtains, and can sit down on the sofa area to enjoy " park views". So nice and peaceful and scenic. The bed was double the size of other hotels in Tokyo too and the bathroom and pantry were very spacious. They were also generous with the good quality room amenities. We like that we could get on the free regular shuttle buses to go to the station, the mall , the hot spring, etc. We did not eat at the hotel as we had heard meals were expensive there. Anyway, the food at the Karuizawa outlet mall was also very good. We had originally come to see the sakuras in the second week of April but, none could be seen. The scenery outside our windows was like a winter backdrop instead, everything was covered in white still. It was unexpected at the time of the year, but still beautiful... We were very thankful for the hotel service staff, both at the hotel itself and the train station/mall customer service office. We arrived after lunch on the train from Tokyo, and tcould leave our luggage at the office and just go to the outlet mall to shop and eat. When we checked in, our bags were already in our room. On the day we checked out, we were very impressed by their service attitude. Sometimes on our trips, we would bring along old clothes and bags, etc to use so that we could " throw" them away after use, to make space in our luggage for our shopping. So we did likewise this time, and the hotel cleaners actually packed up all these items thinking we had forgotten them, sent them to the train station, chased us right onto the shinkansen platform, in order to pass them to us.... oops so sorry, we felt so bad for the entire episode. Thank you so much, the man who brought the things to us , as well as the very lovely and elegant lady at the Prince Hotel customer service centre at the outlet mall, who kept chasing us. We feel very very bad for giving you so much extra work and we are very touched you did go to all that trouble just to return our stuff to us. Appreciate all the extra mile that you literally had to run for us.....BIG THANK YOU! Will definitely come back for another stay. Actually, we really like the Prince hotels in Japan. We stayed at the Prince Hotel at Hakone two times on previous trips. Same thing, lovely hotel grounds and gardens, great views, big rooms, big beds, though can see abit of aging in the hotel, it was still clean and well maintained. Hope they remain so for many more years!

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights for a snowboard/ terrace house fans trip. The decoration of the hotel we definitely on the classic side. I love the fireplace, it brought me the holiday vibes. The room was spacious (in Japan standard) and I can't complain about the view. The hotel staff was very helpful when we needed help with the luggages and transportation. It was a shame we didn't have time for the onsen and western restaurant. But we went to the shabu shabu place at the east and it was lovely.

Very old rooms and facilities. Long wait for breakfast. Prince Hotel is stuck in the 1980s. Pity that they are everywhere and often the only hotel with available rooms if you book last minute.(understandably so).

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. Sincerely,

Karuizawa has several hotel such as The Prince Karuizawa, Karuizawa east, Karuizawa west. If you are shopping-holic, you may choose east or west hotel as it is walking distance to the outlet, but room is standard and lobby is small and crowded. If you want to find calm place and more cozy, you may choose The Prince, even though a bit far from outlet, but they do have free shuttle bus every several minutes, no worries! Restaurant also good!

I stayed three nights in Autumn season... Nice place to look back oneself surrounded by the woods... Shuttle bus service runs around the big shopping mall (which offers reasonable prices of selected brand goods) and the station. Karuizawa town was not that great than I expected. However, it was worth spending one fine fall day.

It was beginning of May but still got a chance to see Japanese Sakura. The hotel was nice located and shuttle bus/taxi was easy and convenient. We enjoyed the meals at the hotel restaurant - dinner was very good. The restaurant staff was helpful and accommodating. The Front Desk was just okay. The room was kind of old and smell like cigarette. We had no chance to change to non-smoking room due to sold out situation.
