This is my second time to a Ryokan. The previous place was Kohantei at Lake Toya. So based on previous experience, I must say the stay at Dai-ichi Takimotokan was wonderful. The check-in was smooth. I was pleasantly surprised that the porter was a group of cheery Japanese women! We had a Japanese style room. It was spacious to accommodate...

This is a big hotel with many hot spring bath available even at late night. Separate male and female baths are available. Slippers and bath robes are available for all; even children. For shoppers, there were some small shops open till late. Staff were helpful

This is a large Ryokan, maybe 300 rooms so relatively impersonal. Having said that, it all works really well, clean and efficient just like all of Japan. Our Japanese style room was excellent, spacious with a couple of easy chairs which was most unusual but welcome all the same. The Onsen is what it's all about, it's just fantastic, and...

We (3 couples) booked 3 rooms with breakfast and in-room dining and were looking forward to the Kaiseki dinner. The first few dishes were okay until the meat dish was served. On our menu, it was printed miso grilled beef but what we got was boiled pieces of beef which were dry and tasteless. We requested to speak to the...

Our party of three spent an overnight stay in Dai-ichi takimotokan. This hotel is big... it spreads out across several buildings. We had a decent size ryokan-styled room. It fitted three of us comfortably. Yukata, a casual summer kimono made of cotton, was provided for each guest. This is the defacto dress-code, if you like, in the hotel. We went...

I stayed there with my family for three days. We really enjoyed the wonderful surroundings in and around the hotel. It was discomforting, however, to experience that my smartphone disappeared from our room during room cleaning one day. And very disappointing that the employees seemed to completely lack any engagement in trying to recover the phone. I visited the reception...

This hotel provides what is probably an authentic modern onsen experience. It is a large hotel spread over several buildings, connected to a large bath facility that overlooks the Noboribetsu hot springs. To get from my room in the "main" building, I had to descend stairs, go through several hallways to get to the shopping arcade, then ascend two escalators,...

The hotel is quite big. The staff okay, We stayed at this hotel because of the Onsen pools (they claimed that they have 10+ pools) and there were more than ten!!!. The Onsen pool is 2 storey big!. I don't know why we are allocated to a room with NO BATHROOM in the room, we have to take a bath...

Thank you very much for your recent stay with us and for taking the time to post your review on Trip Advisor. I also appreciate your wonderful praises regarding our Onsen-Heaven hot spring. It was a big establishment with many buildings and many onsen pools both indoor and outdoor. We opted for the dinner in the room but the food was not up to standard as compared to family-run small ryokans. The only plus was the variety of onsen pools available which were more than enough to accommodate the large crowds staying in...
