Known as the host course of the Farmers Insurance Open, Torrey Pines Golf Course is one of the best public course in the world.
The hotel facing the course and the sea. We could have enjoyed the beautiful sunset from the picture window.
I conducted a meeting/event on-site at Torrey Pines and was more than impressed by the staff at The Lodge. The location is beautiful and the resort itself nice, but what really "makes" The Lodge is it's people. I worked closely with several people while doing...More

I brought an incentive group to the Lodge at Torrey Pines and what a great success. My attendees raved about the beauty of the location, the quality of the service received and how friendly the staff were. I felt that the entire organization truly appreciated...More
Walk in to this place and it is like you stepped back in time to when service was important and a business was built around it. From the kilted valet to the wood burning fireplaces this place is first class. Great deck off of our...More
One of the companies I work for took all of the employees and their significant other to this beautiful resort for a weekend get away. We had a private company dinner party on the lawn with a gorgeous view of the course and delicious food....More

Our daughter was two when we went. There is a big grassy lawn to run around and the pool is heated. Our daughter just slept in bed with us but I'm sure they will provide a pack and play if you need it. The zoo is about 30-40 min depending on traffic. We loved it and can't wait to go back again. The staff is wonderful.

Looks like the 2 earlier posts answered the bed and distance questions! The weather in February is most likely to be perfect. It won't be too hot, it should be warm in the day, cool at night. Make sure to dress for BOTH - shorts/beach wear and long pants/long sleeves/jackets. It could get windy or it could rain or it could be foggy. Most of the time - SUNSHINE!
Fun kids stuff - besides the Zoo, there are many other things in Balboa Park - there are several kid-friendly, activity-oriented museums. I like Sea World with kids, plus there is a very scientific aquarium at Scripps. There is a Lego-land north of San Diego. It is also fun to take some sort of boat tour of the San Diego Harbor and go out to Balboa Island. There are tours with a guide aboard who will tell you about everything, and then there are also plain old ferries that go back and forth, with no guides.
If your budget is such that you are looking at the Lodge at Torrey Pines - you might also look at something closer to Mission Bay - when my kids were little we stayed at the Catamaran Resort in a Garden Suite. It must have been less pricey back then, or perhaps we got a special! They really liked it a lot. I have no idea if it is still as much fun. Everything is too elegant nowadays and people who are spending so much money are very critical of the tiniest little flaws. All my kids wanted to do was swim, swim, swim!
