The Village Lodge offers reasonably priced (for expensive La Jolla), basic, clean lodging right in the heart of La Jolla. Rooms have a mini fridge and there is a Von's two blocks away. Rooms also feature mildly retro decor, a flat screen TV (ours was a bit buggy but worked), a relatively weak WiFi signal and the rate includes on-site...

WE LOVE this place!! It has such a cute and clean room! It is what I call quaint. We go to La Jolla on our Summer trips every August! Maureen was very nice and the nice girl that was new hire, one with cute curly hair, she was also very friendly. We always have an amazing time in this lodge....

If you are travelling to La Jolla on a budget then this is the place to stay. We stayed there two nights in January and found everything to be to our liking. We would stay there again. This is an older original Travel Lodge that is now a family run independent hotel. All of the rooms open to the exterior....

The property is small located right in the heart of La Jolla the owner is very down to earth and always goes out of her way to personally greet all the guests. The rooms are very spacious and very clean the beds are very comfortable. It reminds me of home away from home. The morning breakfast adds a special touch....

Really like this motel! Stayed here previously and planning to stay there again. Close walking distance to beach, shops and restaurants. Staff pleasant and rooms are clean! What else could you ask for?!? Decor is a little dated but still a quaint little place to stay!!

We had to find a last minute place on the 4th of July weekend and this was one of the cheapest locations we could find. The lodge is simple, no frills, but value for money and very comfortable. Breakfast includes coffee, juice, toast, and a selection of muffins & danishes. There is a lovely deck on level 3, from which...

Decided to stay here a few nights ago and they had one room left, so we jumped on it. The hotel isn't too bad. It's definitely dated, but considering you're in downtown La Jolla, the location makes up for most of the hotel's shortcomings. The front desk woman was amazingly kind. The bathroom was tiny, and the beds were a...

Don't be put off by the retro look of this sweet old motel. Although it is not part of a chain (although it was--it still is owned by the family that was co-founder of Travel Lodge, and was originally Travel Lodge number 21) and is not fancy, it is comfortable and clean and the greeting you will get from Maureen...

Ok location downtown La Jolla; a beautiful village. The motel is small, old and though the family that runs it is sweet, you'll wish for something more updated and pleasant. It's on a noisy and busy corner; the furniture is barely acceptable and the bathroom couldn't be tinier. "Breakfast" is served but is just coffee and a role of some...
