We are repeat visitors (5, 6 + times? we lost count) to Trinity River Adventure Inn and have always had excellent experiences! We stayed in Alpen Glow this past week and it was amazing! The cabin was sparking clean on arrival and had everything we needed for an extended stay from cozy beds to a fully loaded kitchen to cook... More

Lovely stay at the Sow's Ear on the Trinity River. We drove in on chilly evening and were greeted with a cozy warm cabin. Steph had the wood stove going and plenty of wood for us. Mom loved sitting on the covered porch watching the river and listening to the birds. Highly recommend this property.

We just got back from 5 days up at Sow's Ear and had the best time. We fished A LOT, and played more, including kayaking, paddle boarding, bike riding, and general enjoyment of nature. It was so peaceful and relaxing... put it to you this way, we saw more deer than people or cars... love it!

We recently booked 3 nights at "miners" cabin. This is a cute rustic one bedroom loft style design right on the rivers edge. Quite charming. HOWEVER....we were greatly disappointed by the loud non stop traffic noise from the highway just above our cabin. From the hours of 7am to 7pm it really was noisy. The most irritating part is that... This review is disturbing. I spoke with the guest initially and he told me he knew our county very well, having come up to hike the alps for 30 years. I remember ours was a long and detailed conversation, but I simply do not recall him specifically asking about traffic noise. When I emailed his reservation form, I also emailed... More

Three families rented Carriage House, Alpen Glow and the Minor's Cabin for a week in July. We used the huge kitchen in Alpen Glow for our shared meals and there was plenty of room for all 11 of us to eat comfortably. All three cabins were well appointed and comfortable. We floated down the Trinity a few times in our... More

We loved this group! From the minute they started arriving, the whole place had a wonderful vibe. They were fun to visit with and took great care of our cabins. One of them is an experienced landscaper and she and Heidi could have hung out for hours talking without getting bored. The coolest thing about our Steel Bridge cabins is... More

Were we humbled by these guys, who came to bicycle Trinity County! They described rides they found online and followed by GPS in the middle of nowhere, exploring areas few see. That they rode in the heat of summer and took on massive grades just adds to their awesome auras. The whole group, including non-riders and Cooper, the very cute... More

Our family of 5 just spent a week at Sow's Ear, and had a great time. The cabin was comfortable, clean and attractive -- not directly on the river, but you could see the river from the porch, where we enjoyed hanging out (and we could go across the road to use Heidi and Steph's hammock and outdoor sitting area... This family was a real kick! Dad targeted this vacation for water adventures, and they did it all. First came kayaking on Lewiston Lake, and then a raft trip. The kayak trip on the river was next, and they enjoyed it so much they went again the next day! We love to see folks push their boundaries, and this family... More

My daughter and I along with our 3 dogs stayed in the Carriage house for 3 nights. The property was perfect for our group of dogs, they had fun roaming the grass area and playing in the river. We try to make our places as dog-friendly as possible, and are thrilled to hear they and their people enjoy their visit with us! We sure do appreciate our guests bringing items to protect the furniture, which gives them big paws up in our book, too. Thanks, reviewer, for taking the time. heidi More

A delightful stay at Miner's Cabin. The front porch overlooking the river made for the perfect reading spot. Small well maintained cabin that is geared more towards camping as there is no stove. Plenty of kitchen supplies. All around friendly atmosphere. Dog friendly!

If you liked the Miner's Cabin before. you will not believe it soon! I just got back from day 4 of framing and setting a river rock patio between the cabin and the river, which explains why I am covered in dirt and sand. But this is going to add so much to the Miner's! It will be big enough... More

Perfect little writer's cabin for a weekend getaway. Porch overlooking the river, fish jumping everywhere! A little close to the highway, but that was fairly easy to ignore. Exceptionally clean and comfortable.

I'm with Nancy: guests do hear road noise at the Miner's, and I wish it was farther from the road. But with the road up the hill a bit and over a berm on the uphill side, and the Trinity flowing by mere feet away on the other side, it's worth the trade-off. There are only a couple of places... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Note we rent full cabins, not rooms. We feature everything from a rustic, restored, genuine miner's cabin mere feet from the water, all the way up to a grand A frame lodge with spectacular views of the river, mountains, trees and sky. We are on prime steelhead/salmon/trout waters. There is year-round fishing, and our winter steelhead season is legendary. You can fish from all 3 locations. We offer SUP (stand-up paddle board) lessons, demos, sales, rentals and guided trips on Lewiston Lake as well as 2-3 day clinics taking novices on SUPs all the way to graduation: a fun and exciting river run. And we offer sit-on-top kayak lessons, guided river trips, and lake paddling. We also do guided raft trips on the river and rent rafts for lake use. Our Steel bridge location in Douglas City has a salmon hole and a rope swing for swimmers. We are dog-friendly with friendly dogs. They love it here! ... more   less
