We have stayed both at this hotel and the Dow Villa. While the Dow Villa has a pool (nice option for families), we would stay at the Timberline as our first choice. The hotel is 1/2 block from busy Rte 395, which keeps it quiet. You can walk to restaurants, the film museum and the stores on Main Street. There...

Spent one night. Owner lived on site. Not fancy, but clean, quiet, comfortable and inexpensive. King bed with fridge and microwave. Park at door. Short walk to several restaurants. Owner was very nice at check in/out. Good experience in a neat little town.

This motel is exactly what one would expect and hope for in an American motel. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and well appointed, it is set back from the road so is very quiet and surprisingly modestly priced for a motel this close to Yosemite. A real find.

Back to the Timberline Motel on my overnight through Lone Pine. Such a nice little motel. Clean, comfortable, very quiet, great price and good management, too. Again, being a half a block off of the main highway is a big plus. No breakfast, but you'll want to eat at the Alabama Hills Cafe anyway.

Good place to stay. Clean rooms, friendly staff, quiet, very reasonable rate. However, our reservation requests via their website and via e-mail were not answered (for whatever reason) - we finally managed to get a reservation by phone. There was no breakfast, but there is a Cafe just across Main Street offering excellent breakfast.

Found this little gem (8 rooms) via Trip Advisor while road tripping. its off the highway so its quiet for sleeping. 1 block walk to nice restaurants, etc. The room was small but clean and completely adequate. The folks operating it were friendly and accommodating. Fairly priced for being in the LA/Mammoth corridor.

Stayed for one night on our way to Southern California. Very clean room and bathroom (a little small). Nice to be away from the heavy traffic on 395. Owners/operators very helpful but were not aware of Tripadvisor. Were happy when told of their rating. Convenient to food - Seasons for dinner and Alabama Hills Cafe and Bakery for breakfast. Would...

We recently stayed here for a couple of nights after one night spent at Dow Villa (in the historic part of the motel). The Timberline is one lock in from the main drag, which makes it more quiet and we wanted that. The price was unbeatable. The bed was big and comfortable (as were the pillows) and the bathroom spotless....

This is a small (8 units) family run motel, that is off the main drag behind the Dow Motel. The rooms are clean and well furnished with a hairdryer, microwave, and refrigerator. Not much room to stick your stuff, but this motel is around $30 less than the other motels in the area. The sleep quality is good with no...

There are only 8 units I think in this small motel a block of the main drag in Lone Pine. When we stayed they were in the midst of refurbishing rooms. We stayed in #6. It was as good as you can get anywhere. Nice paint job, new tiled floor and walls in bathroom and one of the comfiest beds...
