hidden in a small gorge, this small camping is nice and quiet, places are secluded. From the campgournd you can take a walking trail up to Whitney Portal (campground) a 7 km hike up and down… Beautifull sunsets

This campsite is pretty nice. It's absolutely beautiful, for one, with views of the Alabama Hills in one direction and Whitney in the other. I will say, even as someone that camps a lot, this ground was exceptionally uncomfortable. Even with a sleeping pad. Do...More

We first came to this campground over thirty years ago and loved it. There is a small stream running alongside and a great view of Mt. Whitney. The sites are on the small side. More suitable for tents than motor homes. On my most recent...More

We have been camping at this campground since the late '70s and have always enjoyed it. The watering system for the trees has been broken for awhile, even before the drought, and they refuse to fix it. Now the trees are dying, and dead branches...More

Yes - the river is beautiful, but extremely cold all year round. Great for fishing, not for swimming (unless you're a polar bear!).
