This is a find. We stay here every time we travel on 395 and the service and the room are always first class.
Everything works, the beds are fabulous, the pillows are perfect and the room seems larger than other places.
We love Dow Villas.
This is a very good option if you’re passing through town or plan on hiking up Mount Whitney. The location is perfect, allowing you to walk to more than half a dozen restaurants in town...along with stores where you can buy gear for hiking or...More

That really depends on what you are interested in lodging wise. One area is more modernized while the other really has that cowboy charm. Both sides are well maintained. The Dow Villa Motel is three diamond AAA rated and has all of the AAA amenities. This amenities include a coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, free WiFi, and personal climate control. Lodging in the Dow Historic Hotel is based on the 1930's style and amenities are more lobby based. You have access to coffee, a microwave, refrigerator, and WiFi, but they are all accessed through the lobby or from the front desk staff. The heating and cooling are central units controlled by the front desk. Their is no individualized thermostat in the room. What it really boils down to is, who is Baconbutt, and what makes a stay great for him/her?
