This Hotel was a Stage Coach stop, telegraph office and train station layover in the late 1800s. It is perfectly restored to its original condition down to the creaking hardwood floors. The décor was spectacular with antique furnishings and two chandeliers from the movie Gone With The Wind. The king sized bed was plush and extremely comfortable. All the service... More

The 1880 Union Hotel is a fun way to live like a cowboy and to see the Santa Barbara wine country. Yes, the hotel is an antique - that's the charm of this Old West establishment. We had a group of 8 couples to celebrate a birthday and it was great to dance the night away to live music and... More

This was our first stay here at the Union Hotel, we were always curious from our previous visits through Los Alamos. The hotel had the feeling of so much history it was very interesting. We stayed in the "Commander in Chief Room" (every room has a theme). The room was small and simple - all we needed for our short... More

OK, we read all of the previous reviews and we were a little concerned but just curious enough to go and stay for 2 nights. We are so happy that we did! The rooms were quaint but very comfortable, had to ask for an extra blanket which the staff speedily brought to us. The place is old but very special.... More

Restaurant not open during the week . Only place to eat was a hamburger place and a Subway , seriously. If you are environmentally conscious stay away. Electric heat in the room and the hot water takes along time to get to the room 5 min was the quickest . There where a total of 4 guest the night we... More

Charming, quirky and historic place to break our journey from Pebble Beach to Palm Springs. We read the website carefully and selected a quiet double room with its own shower and facilities to the rear of the property. As it was a relatively quiet Sunday evening the bar wasn't as rowdy and lively as it apparently can be at times.... More

There is some charm and interest in this old time hotel. Walking through the door, the inside matches the outside. The check in included signing multiple waivers which I have never seen before. There is a restaurant and bar on the first floor, however the restaurant was closed when we were there. There is no elevator and it is one... More

The hotel is quaint and has a lot of interesting historical charm to it. The rooms are old and be aware some rooms do not have a bathroom therefore you must use a shared bath which is in need of some TLC. The rooms have stained glass windows above the doors and some are boarded up (again, more TLC). The... More

If you think the outside is authentic western, you're in for a surprise when you walk through the doors. The seating areas are cozy, romantic and picturesque. There's a bar, saloon with swinging doors, buffalo head pool room, front desk and atmosphere that could be straight out of a movie set. With weekend live music and outdoor seating, this is... More

Very interesting hotel. The place is very old. If you are looking for a fancy hotel this is not it. There is a shared bathroom and very scary wallpaper in my opinion. The larger rooms have their own bathrooms. But our room only had a window and a fan. It was very hot in the summer. The food was alright... More
