Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.

This was an interesting stay because of the history here. If you are expecting the Ritz you are in the wrong place. If you understand that this is not high end but the price is not bad either than this will be an ok spot for you. The lobby has some Beautiful Stained glass windows

This is at the budget hotel level. The lobby and exterior were very interesting architecturally. Harkening back to a by-gone era. Price was adequate for the level of amenities that were offered. It is more accurate to be labeled as a hostel as that was many of the clientele.

We were going to check in but we’re attacked by a man who would not let us in the door. He got in my face and screamed that they “were closed!” He had a pitcher of ice with him and kept shaking it at us. We pushed the door speaker button, begging to be let in but nobody answered

This place has made me afraid of low budget accommodation, thank goodness Airbnb is popular now so people aren't subjected to places like this.

it was very pretty and very clean considering it being old. very good pricing. in my opinion its underrated. the history makes it adventurous and is most likely the reason for shared bathrooms, for peoples safety.

The phone number on their website is disconnected. Are they open? How do I get ahold of them?
It was demolished in 2015 I believe.

Is the hotel still open? Every website i visit to book claims it's closed but I can't find any news articles or anything similar to confirm this.
It's closed for renovations

Has the hotel had anything go on there since they changed the name? Has anyone really ever seen a ghost at the hotel?
I know there's been at least one more suicide since it changed it's name. A guy in his 20's jumped from one of the upper floor windows in 2015. Obviously it's known for its many suicides. Not sure if there's been other incidents, but probably.
