I have just returned from a 4 night stay in this place. I took my niece for her first trip to the US and this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. My heart sank when I saw the lobby! The man on reception was ignorant . He asked me for my credit card and then gave me...

Creepy! I stayed here in early 2005. Worst place I've ever (not ) slept. My room was right behind the check-in desk. It had originally been the Night Manager's room, but they'd re-modeled it and were renting it out as a regular room. Like one of the other guests' review, one wall of my room was a sliding glass door...

I recently booked a week here on business with some colleagues. They stayed. I moved to another hotel. The pluses: it's biggest are it's reasonably priced (given LA prices) and it's a matter of two or three blocks from all the Hollywood sights, like Grauman's Chinese Theater. It does have a certain funky, older hotel charm, as well, and I...

After reading all the positive reviews and looking at the hotels website we decided this would be the perfect place for us to start and finish our holiday. How wrong were we. Upon arrival the lobby told its own story. The carpet and stair carpet were absolutely soiled and appeared not to have been cleaned foe many a month. The...

This hotel is located about a five minute walk away from the heart of hollywoods attractions. It would be tough to find a better location if that is where you want to hang out. One of the previous posters described the operation as having an "old school" mentality. They are absolutely correct. It is a family run operation and the...

This is a VERY old school hotel...Very old 1950's Hollywood. They have redone the rooms and they're fine...really. If I were the owner, I would have made it more 1950's kitchy instead of motel 6...it would have been a great angle for the place considering it has such history...Janis Joplin died there and I was entertaining a music fan from...

Stayed at the Higland Gardens for five nights in August with our two children. The location is fantastic for that part of town (two blocks from the Chinese theatre, Kodak theatre, Hollywood walk of fame etc. It's also within easy reach of Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Westwood and Santa Monica. However, the hotel's not great and although we'd emailed prior...

We stayed in this hotel for three nights. At first sight (tired and after a long flight), I was wondering 'where the hell did we arrive'. The outside of the building is really old and not renovated at all. The rooms were clean, but as old as the rest of the building. But the next day, after a good night,...

Literally this was the worst experience I've had in a hotel... So bad that it cost us $100.00 for the night and we checked out at 1:30am... (didn't even make it through the whole night). We checked in and learned that the hotel's parking was below the bulding.. (Not a big deal) except in the 1950's when the hotel was...

My 8-year-old son and I stayed at the Highland Garden Hotel for two weekday nights in August 2006. We weren't expecting to spend much time in our room, but wanted a place with a pool where we could also get a good night's sleep. This hotel did not disappoint. We had reserved a room with two beds, and the room...
