I stayed here 2 separate times at the beginning and that at the end of a week long trip to California. The first night we booked last minute for just a night to be close to Venice beach. the location is very convenient, it's right in the board walk and has an amazing view up in the big open rooftop....

I am not very picky when it comes to hotels... I'm usually all for the price. This was just not even worth it. It was VERY dirty. I mean... the carpets are BLACK and you do not even want to step on them. The whole place felt very dirty-- we couldn't sleep because we just kept feeling like bugs were...

Perfectly located on Venice Beach, the Cadillac hotel offers friendly service, clean and well equipped rooms - with an atmosphere. The hotel seems to have been refurbished recently, to a good standard for the price. The roof terrace is a nice spot to bring and enjoy a glass of wine before or after an evening out. Parking by the hotel...

This has to be the absolute WORST hotel service you could ever receive. Unless you'd like to light your money on fire, do NOT stay at this hotel, it's essentially a scam. After paying over $300 for two nights in this hotel, they told me the day before my trip that there was no reservation in my name and that...

Had a one night stop over in LA and was upgraded to the Ocean Suite. This is a great hotel - especially in winter when it is a bit quieter. It's close to some great bars and really good for escaping jetlag to watch the sunrise on the beach! It also has a roof terrace that has an incredible view...

The hotel was ok. The shower, bathroom and room were clean. TV worked. Only thing I'm kind confused about is the boutique fee.... I was told it was for linen sheets and something else but there shouldn't be a boutique fee if the carpet is stained and old and the sink faucets leak. The basics have to be on point...

I love this hotel. But mostly because of the location.... Venice.... The best place in the whole of LA. The hotel is just like Venice. Nice to look at in certain parts, a bit baggy and loose at the seams in other parts. The feint whiff of ganja permeates the town at night and hence the hotel corridors. The rooftop...

We booked this hotel to be close to Santa Monica Pier and weren't familiar with Venice Beach at all. Now I know. We arrived at night which was a big mistake. It was raining and there was nowhere to park. The hotel has a tiny parking lot for $25/night that was full. We found parking down the street for $20...

Of corse I had yet to go to Venice Beach so what better way of seeing the beach than staying right on it. That was the ONLY thing enjoyable about our stay at this awful hotel. It was so dirty that I wanted afraid to sleep there. When I got into the shower there was hair that was not ours,...

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
