The hotel is closed to the beach but rooms are old and there is no refrigerator inside. I had to pay a lot for the car parking and they don't serve breakfast. Anyway the price is quite cheap for Venice.

The location on the beach is nice, if you don't mind the army of homeless that are camped right outside the hotel. They didn't approach any of the people in my group (maybe this is why they are allowed to be there), but it was a little unnerving to say the least. Venice Beach as a whole is very interesting...

The staff was excellent. Called and confirmed booking with Bryan who was very friendly and helpful. Had a room without a view and upgraded to the Queen Ocean. Also talked with Lindsay and the manager Jeff with questions and changing of dates they were great. Each time I called the phone was answered on the first ring and they got...

Excellent location - right on the beach, but not the nicest area at night. A lot of hidden extras - $8 for wifi and $25 per day for parking and they wouldn't let us leave our car there past midday on the day we checked out. The beds were quite small for doubles and the room didn't have air conditioning....

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about our hotel. We apologize you were not clear on the fees in addition to room and tax. Our $8 Boutique fee is not simply for wifi, it is like the Resort, Accommodation or Service fees you see at other properties and for us includes unlimited wifi, beach towels, rooftop...

this hotel is older but has so much to offer. the room we had did not have air conditioning and it was very warm in there, but we just went to the roof and hung out for most of the night. up here you can sun tan all day while looking at the panoramic view of the ocean or look...

Avoid this hotel - it's all (on-line image) style and no substance. The exterior has a cool Venice Beach vibe, but inside, the corridors & the room were awful. Cheaply painted, stained carpet, such a shame with a spacious, historical-looking building. The room was really spacious, but with a tiny queen bed, small, cheap table and chairs, and grubby bathroom....

The Good: The best thing this hotel has going for it is its location. It is right on the Venice Beach boardwalk, which makes it extremely favorable if you are planning on cruising the boardwalk and spending the day on the beach. You can come and go from the beach several times during the day in a matter of minutes....

Got there, we were charged more than originally thought. Toilet didn't work, screen popped out on window. Carpet had stains and room had a noticeably odor. Avoid this disgusting place at all costs. We left within 15 minutes for somewhere else

The location of this hotel is great. Its right on the beach with restaurants right opposite the hotel. It has an elevator. And a rooftop. Staff was friendly. However, the room was very basic and felt more like a roadside motel. Carpet looked very old with cigarette burns and stains. Even the pillow cover had black stains. Bathroom was big...

Do not stay here!!! It is seriously the grossest accommodations I have ever seen. Smells horrible, Smears that look like feces all over the bathroom walls, badly stained carpet everywhere, no AC, none of the lamps work, the alarm in the room went off and woke us up at 4 a.m.... Seriously it is so gross. You are definitely better...

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
