I stayed at The Cadillac on 16th & 17th March 2012. After a 14 day business/pleasure trip I had stayed at hotels in Wst Hollywood, Downtown LA, Las Vegas, San Francisco & Denver. I found The Cadillac to one of my best hotel experiences. The staff were friendly and helpful. I particularly liked the fact that they didn't try to...

The location of this hotel was great, however the walls are super-thin, leading to a very noisy hotel experience. I was kept up late every night there due to the noise level both inside and outside the hotel.

my friend and I just spent 2 nights at the Cadillac Hotel in Venice beach. We were referred by my daughter, and she advised that it was a quaint hotel in a very neat part of Los Angeles. My 65 year old friend and myself were delighted with the hotel. It was spotless. Lovely linens, brand new bathroom, nicely painted...

My wife and I stayed for two nights (Th-F) near the end of February 2012, and we definitely got our money's worth. We paid a few bucks extra for an ocean view room, which looked right out over the beach. Many other hotels in LA would charge $400+/night for that kind of view, and we got it for less than...

This place is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you love the simple things in life and are not a high maintenance snob, than this is the place for you. A walk down the sidewalk ...in 5 minutes your feet are in the sand. The views, the breeze with the windows in your room.....going out to the fire escape the smoke a legal doobie....

The hotel was hard to find, especially at night - you have to go down a one-way alley to it, and it's not very well marked, so it's easy to drive right by. When I finally arrived, there was no parking lot or parking garage, a lot of no-parking signs, and there were many questionable looking vagrant characters standing in...

When the bus tour I had booked messed up my booking and left me standing at the Cadillac Hotel with nowhere to go, Lindsay, the hotel front desk manager, went direct to the bus company who offered a refund. BUT I had a whole day to fill before my flight home and I was terribly disappointed. Jeff, the hotel manager,...

stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. the entrance of the hotel is on the side in a small street - don't worry if your navigator gets you to the backstreet of this one, there is simply no other access by car. service and management was utterly friendly and forthcoming. looking out from a seafront view room, you'll get...

After grinding through LA's abusive roadways for a day, my wife and I decided we would bed down somewhere in the Santa Monica-Venice Beach-Marina del Rey string of neighborhoods. The Cadillac Hotel is right on the Venice Beach Boardwalk, and since it matched our budget--$80-$120 per night--we decided to try it. The unassuming building blends in seamlessly with the surrounding...

The street people of Venice are a large part of what makes this community interesting. While it was slightly shocking to see a rather unsavory-looking group hanging out in front of the hotel -- we had just left the Getty Center (a lovely place with no blade of grass out of place) -- Moses, the night clerk, assured us they...

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
