As most people have said this is a basic place to stay, it's clean - the bed was very comfortable, bathroom much too small and poorly designed but clean. Breakfast is fine if you don't expect a full English, or anything too flash...just something to get the day started...and the staff are just great - especially Charlie, a delightful man....

We stayed here for one night in February. The hotel is very small, in a perfect location for hanging out at the beach. It is a short walk to some restaurants/ bars, and the staff recommended an amazing restaurant for us to try. (C&O Tratorria, fully recommend) Our room was a good size, with a view of the beach/ sea....

Right on the beach with a great view of the ocean from the terrace. Really helpful at reception - thanks Charlie! We used it as a base to explore LA by bus - a great value and interesting way to visit key places - Hollywood, Getty etc. An easy walk to Santa Monica along the beach and convenient for local...

We stayed 3 nights in January 2017. The location is great, if the beach is your thing. Some good restaurants are within walking distance, Muscle Beach is 10min away and Santa Monica is one hour on foot. We did not particularly like the Muscle Beach, it's very commercialized and full of iffy characters. The hotel is not very big, rooms...

If your going to stay here, make sure you get the suite room, its big and has appliances to make your trip even better. The room opens up right to the patio with great views of the ocean and beach. The rooftop was an amazing view of the ocean, beach and hills in the distance, this is the place to...

We spent a couple of nights at the Venice On The Beach. This is all about location. The Deluxe Standard Room that we were in was small but clean. Bathroom was tiny. Shower was too small to pick up the soap, without getting out. Reception was very helpful. The patio was a great place to hang out by the fire...

Beautiful views in our oceanfront room. Watched he sunset from the rooftop deck. Amazing experience!! Rooms were small and so were the bathrooms but who needs a huge room on the beach! The ear plugs on the night stand were concerning to say the least but we didn't even need them. I'd say if you come in season though you...

Venice on the beach was just that... right on Venice Beach! The rooftop has the most beautiful view of the beach and ocean and the ground level area has seating, lounges and a fire pit. You can sit for hours watching the locals and waves and never tire of it. Located just near Venice pier, it is far enough from...

This is an extremely simple, yet very nice hotel in Venice. It is in the heart of one the most charming parts of L.A., right on the beach. The room was quite small but it had everything you need. It is expensive for what you get in terms of the actual room. Even the breakfast is relatively scarce, but it...

Venice on the Beach is perfectly located on Venice Beach Walk, 2 mins walk from the Canals, and 5-10 mins walks from either the Marina del Rey or Venice Beach Sign. The room was small but comfortable. Loved the bed, the breakfast buffet and the service. Charly was at the reception counter all the time and always very helpful.

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
