Hotel's Favourite
We choose the Sofitel because it is well located and only a short distance (in LA terms) between the areas we wanted to visit. The hotel is large - but the friendly staff and quirky art work in the foyer made it feel more intimate. Unfortunately we only stayed at the Sofitel for 1 night instead of the originally intended 4 as our visit was cut short by a family bereavement back in NZ. With regard to that, the Sofitel very kindly shortened our stay without penalty and did not charge us for our second night (we departed at 5pm). We are very grateful for this excellent level of service and won't hesitate to stay again and recommend it to our friends. The rooms were spacious and clean - we were on level 8, everything worked as it should. The closet/wardrobe was massive in our room. Named brand, Lanvin, toiletries in the bathroom and a good sized shower. As we were at the end of the corridor there were no noise or sound issues what so ever. Complimentary water at turndown and a huge comfortable bed. The hotel is directly across from the The Beverly Centre Mall - which is a great shopping destination, but needs more food restaurant options. The staff at the Sofitel were very friendly and welcoming. As I mentioned we weren't able to avail ourselves of many of the Sofitels benefits during this brief stay - but we will be back. The confirmation emails we received prior to our stay were a nice touch.

Lovely environment, comfortable rooms, very clean, amazing service, the only things that don’t make this an excellent place is the absence of a formal restaurant and the excessive noise from the bar..

I can't say enough good about this hotel. My husband was at Cedars for what was supposed to be a 7 night stay and with complications it was almost two weeks. The hotel did everything they could to help my mom and I be comfortable and feel safe in the middle of LA during a healthcare emergency. Alex the hotel manager went ABOVE and beyond. We will never be able to thank him enough. We felt like family by the time we left. Even the ladies in the coffee shop made our stay special. Even the security managers at the hotel were kind. It was difficult being so far away from home (Montana) for an extended period of time, but the Sofi made it bearable. Rooms were always clean and quiet. 5 out of 5 recommend!

I think I had an upgrade. a "patio/KIng" I thought they were only on the 3rd. floor, facing the strret behind the building. on the top floor, there are patios, that are have window, but open. and facing the mall across the street. Cant say IF this is an upgrade. but its a 10 out of 10 for me. the hotel, room, and loby are all 100%, amazing. I think thjey might have re-done parts of it. the shower tile looks new, and it was black before. so, I believe some refurbishments have occurred. the restajurant is closed. its a crummy "grab n' go" and their Housekeepper Fabiola was so rude! She had a arrogant attitude, sassed me, and talked smack ( in spanish, saying unflatteriing things) to someone on the phone,. I asked her to leave, she was reluctant, so I took her things out in the hall way, and told her, you ARE done, and she was saying rude spainish curse words as I shut the door. that was encounter number 1. nu,mber two was being refused to ewnjoy free drinks I had coupons for, becasusxe of a 'Private evewnt" threy werre rude and talked to me like garbage. I flipped her off, ripped up my fre drinks, and was moleastred by security until I told him to back off. I was sttaying till Monday, I'm packed and checki ng out at 3am
