Checked into the Econolodge after staying at the Orchid Suites as we needed something reasonable priced in the Hollywood area. After reading other reviews on this property, thought for the price, it was worth giving a try. The hotel itself has an interesting layout, with a courtyard pool. Upon check-in, you are met by hotel staff who are behind glass.... More

Arrived July 9 for 4 day reservation. There was no one at the front desk to check us in. Had a look around while waiting. Place looked fine as others have commented. Lady arrived and checked us in to room 108. Went to room and it smelled like urine and musty. Turned on air for a while and it was... More

Rooms were clean and spacious, beds comfortable. Had trouble making the wireless internet work while we were there, and staff was slow checking us in. The price was reasonable and the pool was nice and well kept. Walk of stars and Hollywood sign are nearby. I'd recommend it if you're in the Hollywood area.

I had to find an affordable place near Cedar-Sinai as I had sinus surgery scheduled the next day. The manager Karen allowed me to book a room at the last minute. What was really impressive is that the staff took very special care of my elderly dad when I had to unexpectedly stay overnight at the hospital. Kudos to Above... More

The first couple hours of the stay really were pretty good. The manager was kind enough to fax a couple important documents for me without any charge which I thought was quite nice. Then my girlfriend and I settled into the room and noticed that the bottoms of our feet were both filthy dirty, and we had just taken off... More

Viewed all opinions on this website and determined this hotel would be good for my husband and me. We were in Los Angeles for eight nights, five at the Econo Lodge. Our goal was to see Hollywood and experience Los Angeles. The hotel was for sleeping, showering, and resting. We arrived at 6:00p.m. and were shown our room. It was... More

We spent in Hollywood two nights. And it was too much. Hollywood is much below what it can be and people expect from this place. Now I am not surprised that hotel is in such condition and with such the poor service. To have the pool in the middle of the hotel is too less to be a real argument... More

We stayed at the Econo lodge last year. Nice little lodge with pool in the middle - a bit Melrose Place alike, Room is discount and used but not in a bad way, since it's clean. Try to get a room facing the pool. Breakfast included, with nice doughnuts and some bred and cerials. Very close to Hollywood Blvd. and... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
