I liked my stay at this property in October 2021. I booked a 1BR suite and was put on a low floor (it's not as huge building). Hotel is in the middle of a residential area so not what your mind pictures. Restaurant and Bar get very loud at night and noise carries to rooms. Main issue was technology, phones in room didn't work and some light switches didn't either. Overall nice property.

Being thanksgiving, it is expected to be busy. However, walking into the hotel lobby it was an instant disaster . We attempted to check in to the hotel and get our room but their systems were down and they charged our card twice for temporary hold. It took 30 minutes for this process to end up having to come back after our dinner and STK which was another unorganized mess. We had made a reservation weeks before and there was still a long line to wait another 15 minutes to be then told we were at the wrong section. They directed us to the other side of the hotel where we were then told to go back to where we originally were which AGAIN we were sent back to the other side of the hotel. STK could’ve solved this situation by simply putting a sign or an employee at the long line that indicated if you had a patio reservation to go to that part of the hotel. A lot of people in the line were very confused and didn’t know if they were in the right line or had to be in line if they had a reservation. Overall what was expected to be a pleasant and relaxing experience for thanksgiving ended up being more stressful than being at home cooking for family members. Being Marriott Bonvoy gold members, we are used to certain level of service from this hotel group and were left highly disappointed.

I've stayed here several times and the location (so peaceful and close to the 405), gym, restaurant, wifi, working areas, speedy valet- it's perfect for work and the vacationing guests appear to be having a blast. The standout is the staffing at the W. Back in September Rashana Johnson, while juggling about 6 guests on her own, was able to address all our needs quickly and kindly (thank you so much for printing off my presentation slides). Really impressed with her ability to listen to and address guest needs effortlessly. It's always comforting to know Rashana (Shawn) will be there just in case I have more work fire-drills that require her assistance. So happy I have found a hotel that meets all my business needs.

We stayed here for 4 nights to be close to UCLA for move in time. The proximity to UCLA and Westwood cannot be beat. Decided to do upgrade to a mid-level room. Honestly, the levels are confusing (fantastic, wonderful?). We were in room 913. The positives. Nice size room with a living room space and a work space. The room was cleaned each day which hasn’t been happening in other hotels during the pandemic. The negatives. The couch had seen better days. One entire cushion was flaking and it was all over the floor and on my clothing when I sat on it. The other cushion was ripped with stuffing coming out. After that, we covered it with a towel. There’s no coffee maker in the room. The room was clean but dingy. I’m usually a Marriott regular but will be avoiding this one until they remodel. For the same cost, I would choose the Hotel Palomar.
