The owners make a real effort to make this below average, motel like, facility into something more. Air conditioning can be erratic, but windows can open. Bathrooms are excellent, and beautifully maintained, which is important as the rest of the room is decidedly sparse, and spartan. The key is location. Far away enough from Union Station not to be noisy,...

The room size is fine and the cleanliness is ok even if the design looks old. The location is good, near Union station but unfortunately is too pricey for the quality itself plus in house guests still have to pay for the parking. The service is so so, only one of the chinese staff, a housekeeper I guess , he...

No frills but clean with comfy beds, and really close to union station. Traffic noise could be heard in the room but earplugs dealt with that. Breakfast is very basic - bread, cereal, fruit and coffee. No nightlife nearby but downtown bars are a 10-15 min walk away.

We were traveling through Los Angeles and taking the Amtrak to San Francisco. We needed a reasonable hotel close to the station. Metro Plaza is two blocks, an easy walk. While it is not chique or plush this hotel was clean, comfortable. I could not believe how large our room and bathroom were. The breakfast room was busy at 8...

Staff friendly, clean rooms and lobby, great parking right next to hotel inside garage and perfect location. I would stay there again for sure. Booked through Hotel.com for one night while there for a show and never stayed at this hotel before so we were hoping it would be a good experience and it was! I do recommend this. This...

The hotel is well-worn and in need of a refresh. I was surprised to find the housekeeping was excellent, my room was extraordinarily clean. I could walk across the street to Olvera Street and the newly-opened Italian-American Museum, or cross another direction to the beautiful Union train Station. To get downtown using the inexpensive DASH, one just goes a few...

Older hotel but large rooms and clean. Desk person at night check in was very nice and helpful. Train was 6 hours late so I arrived at 4:00am and the walk over was fine with very few people on the street. I had called ahead to make sure they knew I would be there but late and had no problem...

The location was near Union Station which was a positive. But the confusing part was their non-smoking policy. People were smoking in rooms and the hallways. Even the elevator. The front desk crew was nice, but the owners spoke little english, which could be an issue in some cases.

This hotel is convenient to the Amtrak station and historic section of Los Angeles. It is about 2 blocks from the station. It doesn't look like much, but the cost is reasonable. The hotel seems safe. The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are large. Not a large variety of breakfast items, but I was able to find enough to...

The Chinese man at the reception was horrible... He was unwelcoming, spoke very badly English. It is unacceptable even if it is not a luxury hotel ! Zero professionalism... Except that, the room was quite nice... But with this bad service, I went to another hotel. Only one advantage : geographic situation
