Clint is an old pal. Netflix his movie filmed here. Clint plays a Secret Service Agent trying to stop the assassination of our president. JFK was my dad. This hotel, I believe has been used as a backdrop for other films too. The hotel is magnificent. Five towers fed by 3 glass Otis elevators. Being circular, the rooms are not square, but the Feng Shui is excellent. Deep almost walk in closet. Ladies. The bathroom seems tiled with marble. Old fashion dependable faucets that sadly lack normal water pressure, but the sink stopper works well. Most do not. Never trust the time on the clock in the room. Mine was an hour behind. Television tote a breeze to use. Correct lighting. Bathroom has two sets of switched and a vanity mirror. Plenty of light and hot water. Employees are well seasoned. Brown my breakfast server has been there for 17 years. A funny event happened while he was serving me. I asked for French bread lightly toasted. He brought two slices of French toast!!! Breakfast served in record time too. Apple wood bacon delicious. Eggs cooked as I ordered too. Orange juice glass was never empty. Luggage storage is nice. I left a package to be mailed. Conceige, located near the check in desk. Correctly centered facing the front desk. Lovely pools and fountain of water, but why no koi fish. A nearby Embassy Suites has two pools filled with these magnificent fish. Sad, multiple signs deceive is as I use to enter where the cabs pulled in. Had to walk with luggage all around the hotel at night to enter on Flower Street. I was not the only one on this trek. Propaganda states, "Temporary Closed". These doors are shut even during daylight hours. I remember cheerful doormen greeting me. Rooms are spic and span clean. Ladies you will love the large Westin labeled towels. Three of them, three of every linen too. Sad plastic cups in bathroom and bedroom. One would think for a Four Star Diamond award property in 2020, crystal cups wrapped in paper would be more apropos. A/C terrific. Properly positioned near the head of the bed. Only one other hotel, Dinah's in Palo Alto have I enjoyed cool air upon my head. Nice furniture too. I actually wrote two letters before leaving. Grab and go breakfast and well as a formal one. Unsure of dinner is served. The most polite staff I have ever encountered. It was Halloween night and all were at their best. Not distracted by the holiday. Carpeting on the hallways could use an upgrade. Traffic areas show wear. My room, had a bulge in the rug. Bed was the most comfortable. Comforter was a delight to crawl under and keep warm. No noise from the rooms adjacent or street noise. The machinery which all hotels have on their sin roof, neatly organized and clean as seen from the glass elevators. Towers appeared draped with mirror like surfaces. Google, The Bonaventure, to see what I mean. The lobby was very clean too. Even late at night, three attendants at the check in counter, no line. Taxi waiting when you need one. No Uber waiting and cheaper too. Ken the general manager, manages very well indeed.

Hotel's Favourite
I’ve stayed at a number of hotels lately, and the rooms at The Westin Bonaventure are cleaned and prepared far far better than any other hotel I’ve seen. Every disposable item is presented in a sealed clear plastic bag, as is the TV remote control. This includes coffee, along with a package including liquid creamers, plastic cups and shampoo/conditioner/lotion. And while the awesome breakfast buffet is closed, Platinum members get a voucher for the lobby bar, which includes a breakfast sandwich, fruit, juice and coffee drinks. The face value of those items would be north of $30, and the staff there are super friendly. I will look forward to things getting back to normal, but in the meantime it’s a pleasure to stay at the Westin Bonaventure.

First time staying at this property and most likely my last. People who worked here are very nice and trying their best, so thanks to everyone who works here. The property is just so dated. Start with the room, I got "upgraded" to the 26th floor on the green side and the room reminded me of an Embassy Suites Hotel room. The only thing upgraded in the room was the shower head and even that didn't work properly. The room had a great outside view, but that was it. I was really disappointed in the "upgrade". However I must say, the bed was really comfortable, which is usually the case with Westin's. Due to my "elite" status, I was to get a "free" upgraded breakfast each morning. I got a "free" breakfast one of the three mornings. The staff was very busy, so I didn't complain. Work out area was nice and they have 3 Peloton's. Location was OK, I walked to the Metro and there seems to be a fair amount of construction going on near by, hopefully it will improve the overall area. Bottom line, until they do some major renovations there are many other better properties to stay at.

Hotel itself is good and it is possible to give them a much higher rating, here's why: Centrally located in downtown LA. Largest hotel in LA (but you cannot get lost because they have an ingenious color coded system to their elevators). MUCH respected history. Cute elevators themselves can be an attraction (reminds one of Marriott Marquis in NY, now discontinued) Terrace on the 3rd floor has a fantastic view of down skyscrapers... Here is why they did NOT get a good rating, and prospective customers should pay attention: * parking is atrociously expensive. They dinged my car (but that's possible at any hotel) and I won't hold the hotel responsible for it. * Breakfast at the "LakeView Bistro" is expensive at $29 for scrambled eggs, toast & Orange juice.. but the quality of the food was meh.. (not hot, toast was soggy) * Even a lower rated property would offer free coffee or bottled water for its Elite guests - they said "we're not doing that" *Tim at the Lobby bar was a gracious host... but Viet at the same Lobby bar put in so much ice on the drink, that one had to look hard to find the drink in the "drink" A focused management that is in touch with customers can return this unique property to its glory days....

Was in town for a friend’s getaway over the weekend. I found the hotel staff to be really friendly and professional. There was a hiccup with my reservation (mainly my fault for misunderstanding the terms and conditions), so I concreted the Front Office Manager Mario Castillo who was extremely kind and understanding. He worked with me and quickly offered me a solution and I could not be more appreciative of him. The entire hotel staff that interacted with was professional and friendly - the housekeeper, dormem, front desk, at your service agents and bell staff. I am very glad I chose to stay at the Westin Bonaventure in LA, and I would definitely stay again!
