We stay here every year to celebrate our anniversary (and birthdays). We’ve been loyal returning guests since MBI first opened.
Great location, a bit pricey, however I believe in most cases you get what you pay for and for MBI it’s definitely location.
What a wonderful property and staff. Perfectly located on Carbon Beach just steps from the Malibu Pier and within walking distance to Malibu Country Mart. Everything was as you would expect for a “Leading Hotel of the World” right down to the chocolate chip cookies...More
The room that my husband and I stayed in was a solid 5 stars. It was impeccably clean and well-appointed, superbly decorated, offered terrific and thoughtful amenities (including binoculars to see the sailing ships out at sea), and boasted an amazing view. We asked for...More
Very expensive, but nice accommodations. The beds were super comfortable and provided a great night's sleep. The room is fully stocked (fridge and snacks), as is the bathroom. The staff is very accommodating, as they should be at this price point! Nice view! Quite and...More
$660 for a partial view room. This is a member of leading hotels of the world. We’ve stayed in 100s of LHW and this one does not fit the standards. In addition to the outrageous price for partial view- when we asked about upgrading to...More
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted
with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
