My husband and I spent the night here & wish we could have spent another night...the room we had was the ocean view nice...it's large & comfy...my only complaint is there was no hot water the next morning...the front desk explained it was a complication of the winds and knocked 10% off our stay... over all I enjoyed my stay... Maybe not for everyone but I had a great stay if only for one night.. Had a business meeting in Malibu and decided to stay here rather then a massive traffic jam back to LA.. Well worth it.. What you see is what you get.. Nice upmarket country inn.. Close to Malibu and above Zuma beach if r&r on the... More

The inn was beautiful (the landscaping was spectacular) and the staff could not have been nicer! The young man behind the desk helped us with directions, travel times and parking. We stayed in an ocean view suite, which was gorgeous. Insofar as the restaurant is concerned, we had drinks outside one afternoon (very pretty) and breakfast inside one morning (the... More

The location is amazing; just a short walk from a beautiful beach. The room is equipped reasonably well but for the amount it cost us, I would personally consider going elsewhere. This is not a criticism but to pay $850 for three nights was over the top.

Nice clean friendly staff. Too bad that in 2015 there are motels/inns that don't have a/c. Unfortunately with global warming we in CA have higher humidity levels and temps that you need to cool down. Overall not a bad place. Prices are to be expected as you are in Malibu.

The Malibu Country Inn is nestled on the hillside within a short (about 1/4 miles) walk to Zuma Beach. The location is prime and the inn is attached to a moderately priced classy restaurant with a nice outdoor patio. Staff was helpful and very welcoming. Our room was clean and fresh with outdoor patio with a hot tub overlooking the... More

Not too much around, but in a good location just off the main road, a few minutes walk from Zuma Beach and a short drive from the supermarket, coffee shops etc. Cute little cottage feel with huge terrace and a partial sea view. Friendly staff. No probs checking in or out. Room a little dusty in places, not quite immaculate,... More

Everyone at the Malibu Country Inn is very helpful and nice. My biggest issue is that there was no AC (at least not that I could see) even though they advertised as having AC. While the Inn is on the ocean, it was a warm evening and as a person traveling alone, I did not feel comfortable leaving the windows... More

Staying in Malibu

Neighbourhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
