This so-called hotel is a dump. To me it's not a hotel or even a motel or B&B. After you enter a small, nondescript door, you have to schlep your luggage up a long flight of stairs, to a small hallway, which doubles as a "breakfast" area. The bedroom and bathroom are extremely basic and there is nothing else. No...

This was the perfect location if you are trying to save money, but want clean accommodations, while visiting Yosemite. Breakfast in the morning is nice, but nothing to write home about. Leave as early as possible to give yourself as much time as you can at the park. We had 3 full days there, and we could have used just...

We stayed one night in this hotel after arriving on the west coast and heading to Yosemite Nat'l Park. We had driven just far enough when we arrived at the Mariposa Hotel Inn, got a good night's rest, and then were able to get an early start to the Park in the morning. Our room was comfortable, clean, and quiet,...

I didn't want to stay here but one of us was from France; he promised to carry my bag up the long flight of stairs if i agreed to stay. So we stayed. Rooms wildly over-decorated with plastic flowers, flags and much much more -- but the room was spotless, everything very comfortable. Lovely bonus in the early evening: a...

We had a really nice couple of nights here when visiting Yosemite. It's in a historic building in an old gold rush town, with quirky rooms decorated with lots of historic items. It was extremely comfortable and the owners couldn't have been more friendly. A light breakfast was provided, which we had on the balcony at the back surrounded by...

Stayed one night on a road trip. Wanted to find a place that has character, I was not after comfort. Well I did not get disappointed. This place is visually stunning. It is a bit of a mini museum of how Inn were back at gold rush time. The place smell like cinnamon and muffin. The owner is that lady you...

Visited Mariposa, the gateway to Yosemite, for a weekend wedding shoot. After some research I decided to check into the Mariposa Hotel Inn. Love staying in old historic hotels with a story to tell. Not only do i like to photograph these places I also like to investigate them also. Armed with my camera, and my paranormal equipment, I had...

Stayed 3 nights using this as our base for exploring all Yosemite has to offer. Our room was well appointed and comfortable. Owners were really friendly and good to talk to. Complimentary breakfast provided. Recommended.

If you like your accommodations to have some history and character, and if you like your innkeeper to actually be engaged and helpful, then stay here. If you prefer a safe, predictable "motel" and a clerk who simply runs your credit card, don't. Not many other hotel options as you approach Yosemite from this direction, and if you want you...
