I had such a great time at this magical little inn i just had to write a review! The loving northern california vibe i received from the people working in the inn gives a nice and cozy feeling. It was a very pleasent stay and i am sure to return for the chef and owners, charles, great breakfest!

The purpose of our vist was to take walks on the beach of Mendocino and drive down the scenic coastal highway. We enjoyed the atmosphere at this Inn, there was a lady playing appalachian dulcimer in the breakfast room in the morning. For breakfast there was tea /coffee, juice, fried potatoes, french toast, omelette and yogurt with blueberries. We stayed... More

I chose the Dijeradoo due to mainly positive reviews and wanted to give it a chance. The room had a distinct smell of damp and smoke. Dirty carpet and cobwebs. My sister paid for two nights as this was demanded by the receptionist. We only stayed one night due to the room being unclean. I tried to call Charles the... More

The best feature of the Inn is its proximity to town and the morning breakfast by the owner. Other than that, our room was tiny, the bathroom was small. Not that is a bad thing, but for what we paid, it was not worth it. The room has potential to be super cute and comfortable, but that is not the... More

This place is such a wonderful, low key, soulful and heartful place to stay. The rooms are quaint and clean. Room 66 has an amazing view of the church and ocean and was really adorable. The breakfasts are off the hook with fresh, organic ingredients and Charles is a sweet, caring person. TJ is the other innkeeper and was so... More

Cobwebs on skirting board in hallway with dead spider. Bedroom smelt, a mixture of damp and smoke. Carpet stained. Light fixtures were covered in dust and cobwebs and the four-poster bed. Light fitting was insecure, and not all lights worked. Basin was cracked, bathtub was rusted on edge. Wooden toilet seat was worn. Shelf above the basin was wood planks... More

You are not the rudest couple who has stayed here, you are the 2nd rudest in 5 years!!! It seems like your whole vacation was based on how much and how late you could drink coffee and complain about EVERYTHING to other guest. Rude faces not one please or thank you. Then to slam a room that is great!!! Rude.... More

This house was probably quaint as a B&B 20 years ago, but now the degree of shabbiness is the overall impression. Chipped paint, tired carpeting, wood needing refinishing, dated bathroom fixtures, 19" CRT TV set, useless furniture (a locked writing desk?) taking up space, no seating other than the 4 poster double bed which has no hangings and a rock-hard... This House, Didjeridoo, was built in 1881. It has been a boarding house and then a Bed and Breakfast for all except 3 years of that time when the famous artist, Emmylou Packard owned it (she was Diego Rivera's main assistant in the 1930's....). Anyways it isn't shabby and it is very quaint. It's not in perfect shape but its... More

The room was good and the wood burner was a new experience. Easy walking to all that the town has to offer. Excellent host who made us feel at home immediately. The big downfall is the breakfast which I wish they wouldn't do. Was told it's at 9. Not from 9 but at 9 so everyone gathers at 9 in... More

Hi! I apologize about you missing Breakfast. I love that people love our Breakfast. Give us a call or email and I will Refund you 1/2 your nights stay. Our cook had a problem and it is like the 2nd time in 5 years breakfast has been that late. Hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise.... Loving-Kindness Charles @ Didjeridoo More

The innkeepers are so nice! They smile and talk to you directly. Very helpful with restaurant suggestions. Their morning breakfast was impressive! My room was a newer add on, which you get to from outside. Clean and spacious, with an in room jacuzzi and a gas fireplace. Separate private bathroom with a shower. The bed was comfy! Extra blanket and... More

Look. Is this place affordable? For Mendocino standards... yes?? The location is prime right in the heart of Mendocino. And the staff are quite lovely and kind. But the overall Inn itself?? Dirty dirty dirty!! The rooms are quite untidy, there were dust bunnies in the all corners. We were traveling with our not-yet-walking baby and i could not put... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Great Food, Art, Music and Vibes await you at Didjeridoo. Set just across the road from the ocean bluffs and the oldest Presbyterian church in California our spot in the village is cool. Walk to great eateries and all the local shops or relax and meditate in our beautiful gardens and historic lobby. See local art displayed in our relaxed lobby, break bread with us at our open pot-lucks & drink wine with us :) If you play bring your instruments, music happens here. Didjeridoo is perfect for weddings, reunions, small private parties and any other happenings that need to be in a place of love and beauty. Our rooms are great too! They range from quaint to fancy, some Victorian some simple and zen, all beautiful. We are Mendo people and want your visit to our village to be special and cherished. Peace Please note Didjeridoo is not a place that uptight conservative people will enjoy, in fact they will write bad reviews and hate it like they hate many things in life. Didjeridoo is most enjoyed by cool people looking for a nice stay in a beautiful place in an extremely friendly environment. ... more   less
