I just made my second visit to Mendocino and the Sea Gull. Both were as wonderful as I remembered! I arrived on a rainy afternoon to be welcomed by the very friendly and helpful Laura, who gave me lots of tips on places to go in town, and the smell of the delicious blueberry bergamot muffins she had just baked...

Staying at the Sea Gull Inn was the perfect decision for our weekend in Mendocino - the location right in town was unbeatable, our room kept us comfortable and relaxed, and both breakfasts were absolutely delicious. The owners also provided a couple of personal touches that really made us feel at home. Could not recommend more highly!

The staff was very helpful and accommodating but our room had a single chair due to the tight quarters. The breakfast, served each day to our room, was very good and filling, but we missed the opportunity to meet with the other guests around the morning repast.

One word: FABULOUS! I absolutely loved this place. I stayed just one night as a get-away trip and it was such a great experience. It was extremely quiet at night and I had very restful sleep. The room was cozy and pristine. In the morning, owner Jim delivered a gourmet breakfast right to my room. It was delicious and so...

Three nights at the Sea Gull Inn and I'm rested and ready to go. From the first step into the gardens you know you'll enjoy your stay, checking in we got a map and the lowdown of the restaurants. This old 1878 Inn has the typical quarks of a historic building, but they simply add to the charm. While we...

We decided last minute to get away on an overnight. Did a bit of research and chose the Sea Gull Inn. From the minute we made our reservation, we were pleased with our choice. We were greeted by Jim and he was very thorough, helpful and friendly. The Inn is a treasure. And the surrounding garden a delight. We walked...

The gardens were so full of anticipated beauty not available to us in January. We had Lookout #1, with a partial view of the ocean. The weather was stormy, so I spent a bunch of time watching storm surf. Very peaceful and the room was beautifully appointed. Bathroom is a tad small, but it is a Victorian. We enjoyed the...

Sea Gull Inn provides wonderful value in an historic, beautiful getaway town. We were greeted by Ayla who provided a map and hiking and restaurant ideas for our stay. The morning breakfast is organic, delicious and a perfect amount. We had a very restful sleep.

We had a lovely 2-day stay and the Sea Gull Inn is a B&B we'd go back to. Very helpful staff. Laura gave us hiking tips when we arrived. She was spot on with descriptions. We never had to drive because of the Inn's central location in the village. The room itself was comfortable. Bed, linens, everything was just right....

This little jewel was quaint, cozy, and at a great location! Traveled solo and stayed at the Sea Urchin room. The room was nicely appointed, cute, and quiet. They do breakfast a little differently here -- instead of you going to breakfast, breakfast is brought to your room. They give you three time options for breakfast at the beginning of...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Mendocino CA and Sea Gull Inn, one of the original B&B Inns on the scenic Northern California Coast. The house was built in 1878. A giant Holly tree shades the front porch. The private garden has several secluded sitting areas. Meticulously maintained, the inn and its grounds are very much a part of Mendocino's charm. All bed and breakfast lodging guest rooms have private baths and some have views of the ocean. ... more   less
