Got married in Monterey at The Barns at Cooper Molera and chose to stay at the Hyatt Regency. This was a great choice, as this is a beautiful property, centrally located, with lots of amenities, wonderful rooms, and an excellent staff. 10/10 would recommend.

we stayed there for a night but wish we had more time to fully enjoy the property. The lobby is a bit hard to find and restaurant was fully booked for the time we were there. Its far from the Pier and downtown so if thats your interest, then this place will feel a little far away.

I have stayed here many times and sadly the stay this weekend will be my LAST. Service or lack there of, dated rooms and just an overall blahness of the hotel is why. I get that many hotels and businesses are struggling due to Covid, but dated rooms and just generally unfriendly staff are a different matter. Here are just a few of the issues we experienced. Checked in online paid for spyglass (main) pool view and balcony upgrade and the app allowed me to request housekeeping and time of day. At check in was told we were upgraded to a golf course view, get to the room and it has no balcony. After two calls (they hung up on us mid call) we were moved to a different room, that was a pool view but in the older part of the hotel it was dark and dingy (it was clean) with walls that were paper thin. I didn’t enjoy being part of our neighbors conversation. Next issue: Our door didn’t work they had to send someone to get us in, they said they would fix it. Four hours later nothing. We had to go to the front desk to sort out. Next issue: no housekeeping AT all. For what they charge this is not right, especially when they confirmed we did want it. I could go on but won’t, I used to love this hotel but will just move on. No need to go back.

Rkaradi, Thank you for your repeat patronage and for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are disappointed to hear that our policies were not to your preference. Please know that our housekeeping service has been limited to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our guests and personnel, as safety is always our top priority. We are happy to hear that our front desk staff was available to help with your issues as they arose, but we are sorry you were displeased with the solutions available. Our team is dedicated to improving, and your comments will aid in this endeavor. If you ever find yourself back in the area, we would be honored with another chance to impress you. We are at this hotel at the moment. The building and room that we are staying is really old. If a person above you decide to walk, you can hear the creak and the boom. If he/she has a heavy step, you are out of luck. Forget about sleeping. Unlucky us, the room above us decided to pace since 5 AM in the morning and doesn’t stop until now. Sometimes the whole floor shook. We use our Hyatt points to stay at this room. If we paid out of pocket, the room cost $600 +$200 per fee and tax. At most, this should be a $200 motel as I have stayed at better holiday inn. Way overpriced. My son just couldn’t wait to check out and go home :(

This place is WAY overpriced and feels like a roadside motel. The parking lot was packed. So, you could not find a spot to park near the outdoor elevator, which was located 2 buildings from our room. Of course there is no valet or bell service because of Covid, so getting to the room after a long day of driving was not fun. The rooms were ok and well appointed, beds comfortable, standard for a Hyatt. We ordered room service for dinner and breakfast from a limited menu, which was also way overpriced and arrived cold with room temperature drinks. My beer came warm and needed a bottle opener. When I called to get help opening it, they offered to send a cold beer that was opened. It never came, so I gave up. I believe that this was the WORST $700/night stay I have ever had in my 30 years of traveling as an adult. Monterey feels like a tourist trap—I don’t think we will be back.
