Love this place and great location. The best bed and pillow ever. You can just park and walk. So many things to do and see. Also Monterey Fish House for lunch was so good. Service and food excellent. Great place for Breakfast across the street from the Hotel(the old side) Travel Zoo !!!!!!!!!!! Best deal

This is a wonderful place to stay while visiting Monterey. The hotel has charm and both he new and historic rooms are very nice. The morning breakfast is good and always contains a good selection of choices and very good coffee.

If you are looking for a hotel that is close to food eateries, points of interest and has a lot of charm and comfort look no further than the Monterey Hotel. Located in the hub of Fisherman's Wharf it offers the close proximity to things to do as well as the quiet for times of solitude away from all the...

The historic side of the hotel has some quirks but that is part of the charm. No AC which is generally not a problem as the weather rarely requires it and the windows actually open. Be prepared to haul your suitcases up 3 or 4 steps if you're on the historic side- or simply request assistance before you go upstairs.The...

Our stay at the Monterey hotel was fantastic! This hotel is basically in 2 parts- a restored section & a basic section. We walked in off the street & were offered a look at both types of rooms and for $10 extra we took the renovated rooms which were much larger & extremely comfortable ours even had a fireplace (electric)....

Our recent stay at the Monterey Hotel provided our family with a clean, comfortable, friendly experience, which made our visit most pleasant. I would recommend it for anyone who wished to have a quiet relaxing place to stay.

We stayed in one of the updated rooms, which was very charming, although on the small side. It looked freshly painted with a nice remodeled bathroom. They had crown molding on the ceiling and period piece furniture like a brass headboard for the bed, which was quite comfortable. It felt new and clean, with a large window with plantation shutters....

We love staying here with the hustle/bustle of Alvarado Street. Everything is close and we never have to get in the car until we leave. Lots of wonderful walking venues. Rooms are lovely, staff very helpful and friendly. Renovation is in progress, so a little understanding is required, but did not impact our stay at all. Beds are very comfortable...

Easy parking, lots of dining options nearby. That area of town is, in general, being improved immensely. Onernight street parking is available on Sundays until Monday morning. You can purchase Awuarium tickets at the desk. Hope that it remains such a good value.
