We stayed in December 2018 and the room was very large, 2 queen beds and a fireplace. The room was clean and very comfortable for our family of 4. The staff were very friendly and breakfast had a sufficient variety. The location was within a 15 minute drive to the wharf, and

Average hotel, relatively close to Monterey centre and easily accessible with lots of parking. Pool area is fine. Breakfast was ok with a reasonable choice. Our big problem was with the room - 102. Relatively small room with only one bedside locker at one side of the bed.

Stayed here for two nights in a standard room. Booked through Expedia. Unfortunately the Expedia listing didn't indicate that the room was in an older section accesable only by stairs (I'm 72 ), had a skylight in the sleeping area with no way to shade it, and had NO chair, or

Hotel itself gets 3 stars, it’s pretty average. Some aspects have been renovated but others are run down. Also there is a skylight in the ceiling which lets in all the light at the crack of dawn. Now as for the staff, big fat zero stars! They don’t have their act together and

When you are next staying with us, or indeed at any hotel, please do consider making your reservation directly with the hotel - you will likely have much less likelihood of such billing issues arising again. How close is the hotel to the beach
Hello. We only got out of the car and saw the beach in Carmel by the Sea - at Pebble Beach, but I asked my husband how far the Mariposa Inn would have been from the beach and he said "within walking distance". The drive from Pebble Beach to the Inn felt like just a few blocks at most. Hope this helps!
