Not sure why they refer to this as a hotel, it's definitely a Motel. Probably built 50 years ago, but maintained well and really comfortable. We had a room in the back with 2 large beds and a small kitchen. Fireplace in the room, small balcony facing a private home next door. The room was spotless, though a little dated....

We stayed here with several family members for a scuba dive weekend. The hotel is in a great location near everything. It is in a hotel row and an easy hop to Carmel by just staying on the same road. The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. Double Rm #218 was great. Although on a Friday night with...

We only stayed for a night here but it was good for what we paid. The reception lady was a bit aloof and the continental breakfast only had sweet things (cakes, waffles and jam) so keep this in mind if you are diabetic or something.

A great place to stay while traveling. We were there 2 nights and had no problems with our stay. They have a very nice continental breakfast area with a patio area. The heated indoor pool and hot tub spa are both very nice and well maintained. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Located near everything you need in Monterey,...

We booked on the fly at the last minute. Not fancy, but nice enough. Breakfast was adequate with a fair selection of hot, cereals, pastries, fruit, etc. Friendly staff. Good location, close to Cannery Row and 17 Mile Drive.

My husband, our two daughters and myself had a two night stay at the clarion hotel. We found that this place was pretty fantastic for it being an older hotel. Some things could be fixed/updated as there is some rust but we were pretty pleased. We got our full of the indoor pool and hot tub. Not too far of...

I made a hotel reservation through booking.com for 3 nights at the Monterey Clarion Hotel. Plans changed and I canceled my reservation just outside the 72-hour cancellation policy window. The Clarion Hotel charged me for the first night's stay which infuriated me. After speaking to the hotel, and even having the customer service rep at booking.com speak to the hotel...

I thought this place was going to be wonderful, but we ended up having a terrible experience. Upon check-in at 2:30 we put a cash deposit down so an authorization hold wouldn't be placed on our credit card (because it takes a while to get back into the bank) and we asked if that was acceptable, and the front desk...

Not the most up to date hotel but room was clean. It has an in door pool and buffet breakfast. Not a bad place to stop for a night. A short walk gets you to the centre of town for the restaurants, pubs and seafront.

I booked this hotel for the indoor swimming pool as my kids love to swim when we travel. Since Monterey's climate is cool I though indoor would be a better option. It was. The pool was a big hit with the kids and and it was just the right temp. The spa was also nice. We booked a room with...
