Not much to say - it was a reasonable hotel and had no problems with it, seemed a bit overpriced for what it offered, a little worn and in need of updating, and both of the people I dealt with at the front desk were competent but just providing minimal courtesy

Hotel's Favourite
We found this hotel by luck. We were looking for a place that accepted pets and we booked it. The hotel was superb, the service was great. The room were spotless and super quiet. We stayed at the hotel for a week during the pandemic in August 2020. We booked a second visit for April 2, 2021 and they were so nice they booked us the same room. They treat their customer like family and I LOVE THAT!

We were here for two nights for our Big Sur drive. It is a motel type setup, a little weathered on the outside, but nice rooms and a great staff. The amenities are there. We had an issue with a small appliance upon check-in and it was taken care of promptly. Plenty of parking spots close to the rooms. Walkable to the pier, although we were surprised that there are very few pedestrians in the area. It appears to have a popular restaurant on premise although we did not try it.

Loved this place. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice big tub. The location was convenient to the bay and shopping. The staff were polite and helpful. Loved the restaurant. The Spanish cuisine was amazing. This was my first trip to Monterey. I would stay at this hotel again if I am in the area.

This was one of the most expensive hotel stays ($404! for one night!), AND one of the worst hotels. We wanted to have a late lunch when we first arrived, but their restaurant was not open. We had done a long drive, and were exhausted, so tried to take a nap. We were woken up by a dog (turned out to be 2) crying, whining and barking next door! This went on for an hour and a half. We tried knocking on their door but no one was home. We called the front desk and reported it, which we had to do via cell as the in-room phone was not working. They said they would try to get ahold of the owner. As we left the hotel to find dinner, we stopped at the front desk to report the dogs again. A man in a suit coat came flying out from the back and rudely took over the conversation, saying we had signed a paper about "siesta time", that "quiet time" was from 9pm to 9am, so there wasn't much they could do from 9am to 9pm about the dogs. We asked if we could move rooms but were told they were sold out for the night, so no. SO, if you have animals, maybe this is the place for you, though why in the heck would you take your pets on vacation and then leave them scared in a strange place (in a cage) while you go out?! Better to build a house/pet sitter into your vacay budget like the rest of us do so your pets are safe and comfy in their home environs! So, BEWARE OF THE SMALL PRINT WHEN YOU SIGN ANYTHING AT THIS HOTEL. Anyway, we wanted to use the pool at one point but it was not that large and full of children, even after 8 or 9pm. The room was okay, though a little crowded and some of the furniture and carpet was worn. The finishes were cheap and not what one would expect in a $400/night hotel. The dogs that night? Thankfully, the dogs were quiet or my earplugs worked really well, but the way we were talked to/treated was poor and left a bad taste in our mouths. DO NOT STAY HERE!
